I just purchased a Sonic X Solid for dry lanes to use at tournaments and stuff. For who has one tell me what you think, ill be picking mine up on Thursday.

The Sonic Xs work on shorter patterns and are great.

The Sonic Boom(Sonic X pearl with more flare) is rapidly becoming my favorite ball on our local longer but very light oil patterns.

I get a good backend and a lot of hit off Sonic X on shorter light patterns and have tried to fit it on longer light patterns and sometimes had high scores.

Now I've got the Sonic boom for our local low volume longer patterns(near 40 feet ) and my confidence is soaring as to what a great one two combo they are!

The ball worked out quite well today, i shot low 200s and a couple of 180s, our shot has been really messed up latley though so those were good scores there. The ball is a little stronger than i thought but its still good.

Absolutely not for dry lanes unless ytou are severely rev challenged.
I have average or maybe even less than average revs and drilled mine up 4 x 4 because I was afraid it would be too weak on our light wood lane house shot.
 
It is too strong. tyhe problem in this house is the deeper you go the more carry you lose.
With the lower Differential I cannot generate as much back end reaction so I am going to try sanding the cover up to 2000 grit then polishing it with some 5000.

This should allow me to play the ball with a fairly small swing out in the lighter area of the pattern outside the 10 board.

If you have hand this ball can be used quite easily on medium conditions.
