Super Sonic Question and thoughts
« on: January 08, 2008, 08:50:43 AM »
I just picked up one to mess with as a teamate bought one years ago and it seem to carry and hit very well at our lanes. I really cannot use him as any help because we both throw the ball so different and his finger holes are so small I cannot get my fingers into it to throw it. He moves the ball about a total of 6-8 boards total and sorta spins it with a on the top release. Specs are 2-3 pin,and 2.5 top weight on the one I picked up.

So, I am looking for a few suggestion on drilling this ball up for a basic walled shot. My speed is about 15 mph max, with med/low revs and I never play left of the 3 arrow due to my revs and the conditions I see. PAP is about 3 3/4 and slightly up from center line. My X Factor layout sure looks to be a 1B drill pattern or a 5 3/4 with a 1/2 X hole on the PAL

I want this Sonic to have a bit earlier roll then the X Factor with maybe a tad less back end compared to my X Factor. I was looking at Roto's drill sheet and the 4" B or C layouts looked good.

So for those who have used this ball who are more of a stroker style, what did you like about this ball, what did you not like, did you touch the cover, and what layouts did you like?

Thanks TheGom

I suggest you try a different ball.  This ball goes long and finishes.  It is designed for drying conditions.  It will slide too far on oil.  The X factor is a much stronger ball.
