i am tinkering with the idea of altering the surface on my illusion. I throw about 18 mph with alot of rpm. my illusion is drilled pin under ring with cg kicked out. pin is about 3 inch. i like to go to this ball as soon as the backend starts to breakdown, but is just to strong to make it through game three. should i A) go to 4k polished B)go to 4k abralon C)redrill pin over or D)buy a pluto with 4 inch pin

i would say try going to 4000k w/polish first, and then go from there.  if it's still too much, try giving it a little weaker drill or a drill to go a little longer.  I really have no idea on drilling techniques though so hopefully someone else can help you there
