Theory
« on: September 19, 2014, 11:07:30 PM »
Okay, don't ask me why, but I bid $1.00 on Ebay for a fully plugged & resurfaced Theory....  And won!!!  So for $15 and some change, I've got another ball.  Problem is, I don't know how this will fit in with what I've already got.  The two balls I'm mostly using now are a Storm Special Agent (which I recently got and started using on the fall/winter league and am loving it!!)  and a HyRoad Pearl.  And after looking at the specs, I'm afraid the Theory is going to be very similar to the Special Agent.  (Am I correct in that?)  But all the reviews I've read on the Theory are great!!  So I guess I'm just gonna take it (along with my other balls) to the pro shop and see what they suggest.

Any other suggestions???

Thanks!!

Stronger than what you got for sure.  I liked it more than the original cell to be honest...only cause I carry more ten pins with it..

The Special Agent, being a dull strong cover (R2S solid) with a low RG and high differential, can be very similar to the Theory in the amount of oil it can handle. The Theory, being an asymmetric, is capable of being drilled for a stronger backend reaction, while the Special Agent with the stock surface will usually be smoother. I'd use a drilling and a surface on the newer ball to differentiate from the older one. It could be polish or just a smooth (4000 grit) surface.

UPS delivered the ball the other day and all I can say is "Wow"!!  As described, the ball is fully plugged and resurfaced and is in great shape.  With the exception of the plugs being a different color, it looks like a new ball.  Haven't taken it to get it drilled yet, but am definitely looking forward to it.

Got a question though.  Looking online I've noticed that some of the Theory balls have brackets around the name like this  {Theory} and some don't.  What's the difference?    Just wondering.....

Thanks!!
