After reading the reviews and getting a great deal on a SSP my pro shop driller asked me a question that I really did not have a answer for. Compared to other lines (hammer, storm, ebonite) which ball is the SSP most comparable. I know from the reviews that it has great length and a strong backend but his question was more along the lines if this ball was a hammer product would it be a ball that is currently produced or would it fit in between two currently produced balls. After bowling in the central Jersey area for the past four to five years I've personally seen two maybe three RGs(SD-73 and blue retro) so there is not a great following of the line in this area and very few shops stock the product. If anyone can answer this question in detail I would greatly appreciate it.

PS I used the hammer line because we have a hammer demo day coming up next month and the shop owner is a avid hammerhead.

Slick,

As many people have said on here, for the price the SSP is the strongest backend ball in that price range. Now not everyone will agree on that, but we have heard that from all across the country and not just on this website. The SSP compares to a columbia black/gold messenger, storm eraser, Brunswick's monster line pearls but from what I have seen this is a much stronger ball (even with my biased opinion)

When I look at the hammer line-up I don't see ANY variation what so ever. All I see is a bunch of low rg balls with extremely high differential. When your low end equipment and mid priced equipment can out perform your high end equipment all the time what is the point of having 9 or 10 balls in your line. I don't think Hammer has a complete product line and I am not trying to bash hammer, just trying to show you what I would say if I was a consumer looking at their website. Their low end equipment has more flare potential then their high end equipment (big blue's). I can't compare our SSP to any hammer balls because they all look close to me in relation to core numbers except the coverstocks.
