Which ball cover takes more maitenance
« on: March 23, 2008, 09:16:14 PM »
I have 2 BWS but they do need reg cleaning, one of them is really bad and needs a frequent bath. My question is about the Cell will the cover on it need more or less care?

All high tech equipment requires maintenance. The Cell is designed to absorb oil slower but will still require cleaning. I have been throwing RG now for about 4 years and have an RSP with ove 200 games on it and it is still very lively. Do not fear early ball death with RG.....

If you're using a dull ball on heavier oils, you will not get away with less maintenance, in general. All balls MUST, WITHOUT EXCEPTION, be cleaned before you put them back in your bag, as you finish bowling.

Balls, like the Cell, have been designed to absorb less oil, unlike the BWS (assuming you meant the Black Widow solid, which is designed to absorb oil VERY rapidly, like a sponge.).

Where the Cell will pay a benefit is in the fact that it will, generally, but not always, need much less oil extraction, or "Rejuvenation" every 50 - 75 games, than an oil sucker like the Black Widow will. The Cell may need it every 100 - 150 games, while the BW may need it every 50 games or less.

It all depends on the usual factor. Yo may want to want until you see a reduction in performance or you may want to do it on a regular basis, say, every 50 -80 games or so.
