8 games after drilling and my Venator cracked.

Yes, it did crack but I take responsibility for it, Thanks to my Low track and this ball being so Low in Rg, I opted for the pin to be placed 5 inches from my 3.5 PAP, my driller drilled the Middle finger right next to the Pin, 8 games later and 100 degree's in my trunk and Hello, a nice long crack from the Pin over into my track area. For 7 of the 8 games I was unbeatable shooting a pair of 279's (Don't get excited, it was all in Practice) but boy did I whack them. So what's my next action, I'm going to drop another $150.00 and hopefully learn from my mistakes. Just a quick question: is it normal for the Venator to have a 1/4 inch shell?

Well, I contacted the seller on Ebay, I took pictures and sent them to him and he is going to contact Seismic and ask them, personally if I was seismic, I could easily apply the user/drilling error here, I did a no - no, the Pin was right next to the Middle finger & I use Finger inserts which voids most warranties by them selfs but then again, it is worth a shot, it might be a good Idea to support those who support your Biz but this could swing away from me, I give myself a 20%-80% shot at Seismic sending me a new Venator.

All 900 Global and AMF shells are really thin so it does not surprise me.  I've had numerous AMF and 900 Global crack on me.  I believed what I as told by the manufacturer that thickness doesn't matter.  yeah, dummy me but you want to believe in the equipment you're throwing right?  Well, I had thrown Columbia (post SA) before and didn't have any crack.  I just switched to Storm and haven't had any issues.  The thickness of Storm's shells are good and I feel confident nothing will happen with them. 

If it was just drilled and you got it from your pro shop, they should be able to get the distributor to replace it under warranty.

ok.  Well, I posted same time as you.  You are pretty much out of luck if it was through Ebay.  You bought a NIB ball and got it.  They did their part.  I hope the seller will help you.  Most companies have stipulations regarding distance from drilling to pin.  I wish you all the luck!

Sorry.  I forgot the Venator is Seismic.  But I believe 900 Global pours for them.  My apologies.

Call Seismic direct if the person you bought from isn't a  proshop. They will likely take care of you even though drilling too close to the pin and leaving it in the car are big no no's

Yes 900 Global pours Seismic.  If it is truely 1/4", I personally would not be happy.  While within "spec" I think that is far too thin especially when paying a premium price for a ball like the Venator.

The heat from your car got you on that one. Heat makes the core expand and then you guessed it, there is your crack. And by the way i have owned quite a few 900 Global balls and haven't had any issues with them cracking. Its mostly human error when you balls crack.

If he purchased from Boomit800 on eBay he is a staff member so he will do what he can to get you taken care of.

As far as cracked balls I guess I have been lucky 20 years and only thing I have ever had crack was a Freeze a few years back. I have been throwing strictly Seismic the last couple years and have had zero problems.

I've owned plenty of Lane #1 and Jet balls that Global poured and NONE of them were anywhere near 1/4".

Yes, Boomit800 is the person I have been dealing with, he was the seller that gave me the $10.00 sorry for the inconvenience award from Seismic when they sold out of their first run of these balls, and because of his professionalism in dealing with me, I'm purchasing the Solaris Platinum from him in September.

every company has bowling balls crack guys. Regardless of cover thickness if it is in extreme heat it will crack it will crack in cold or if left next to a furnace vent that is running.
