Anyone mess with coverstock prep?
« on: April 03, 2011, 06:46:55 AM »
Has anyone else played with with the covers on the Seismic bowling balls out their?? If you haven't you may wanna try it, I have been getting amazing results.

I have knocked the two AfterMaths down to 2000 abralon and have a gotten a stronger and smoother read off friction while reataining the easy length seen in OOB condition and have gotten great looks across alot of different patterns, Most recently being last night at Willow Creek. Using my 5 1/2 inch pin AfterMath on a Sport Condtion of Moderate length and Volume shot 670 and probably could have had quite a bit more I only started with 187 trying to get the lanes to open up a little.

I have a Requiem, Polished to a shine drilled pin under ring and it is a gem the break down of heavier patterns, or carry down. On the Nationals pattern after about four games we started seeing alot of hook, I balled down from dull Requiem to the Polished and torched them the last two weeks like that. The polished Requiem allowed me to play deeper and see a very strong and controllable reocvery off the spot. Just to name one example of many.

Have my AM at 2K and have done well with it, a bit smoother than OOB and a bit less condition specific for me. My AMP is box finish still and will probably remain that way as it is plenty strong in that form.

I think the Requiem rolls better polished.

The solaris and blackout roll well when sanded a little bit as well.

I knocked my Aftermath solid down to 2k as well and it had a very nice read to it. Our pair seemed to be hooking a little more than normal so it was a little weak on the back but i expected that with my low speed. I  might try it this week at 3k for grins and chuckles.
