Seismic Faithful
« on: February 19, 2014, 01:09:24 PM »
I think Seismic is one of only two companies I have not thrown, I have lurked and threatened on several occasions over the last three years but never pulled the trigger.

Now I think I will, SO, my question is what is the best arsenal for league and tournament coverage, consisting of covering everything you can from A-Z in patterns?

Its all good stuff, all rolls very well and very predictable....I have had 6 of their balls and liked 5 of them a lot and the one I didnt care for, was a match up and lane condition issue, not a ball issue. The Blackout is one of the best balls Ive ever thrown....in the top 2 for sure.

Oh yeah......the trusty Blackout!  I called it the THS Killer. lol.  It was so easy with that ball, I felt guilty throwing it. Haha!

I'm throwing the Venator, Dominion, and Platinum for my THS. I have 18 mph ball speed, but I just get where I'm comfortable and ball down as needed.

Tournament times I bring out my Stampede, Charged, and Blackout, too. All compliment each other well, which is what I love about Seismic. The pairing is amazingly easy.

If anyone is interested in buying a Blackout, I just listed one on Ebay. Pretty sure there isn't to many left undrilled.

Welcome to the family!  Like mentioned above...you will not regret your choice.  I've personally switched to an all Seismic arsenal summer of 2012 and have not looked back since.  I started with two used pieces to test the rolls...a Blackout and an Aftermath Pearl.  The spans were fairly close so I used them along with whatever other brands I was throwing at the time.  Four months in, I shot my first 800 with the Aftermath Pearl...and hadn't even changed the span to fit me.  I was sold...I have had every ball, and multiples of each since then, except the original Desperado.  The equipment is about power and control, and they complement each other amazingly.  I have since sold majority of collection, only to get some Seismic presence into my local area.  I sold an extremely low game Venator (I had two) to a bowling partner and he shoots 299 with it after only a week.  Everyone else has been loving theirs as well.  Two houses I bowl in have changed their shots from last year, and I was battling too much hook with the equipment I decided to keep.  So I was able to get my hands on the Desperado TSE recently, after demoing it last November.  Absolutely what I needed for this hooking shot.  I aslo sought help from the bright minds over at bowlingchat.net, and have been working with one of their valued members through PM on layouts to compliment my delivery specs.  He nailed the Desperado TSE and now I have two more layouts to put on my Raging Bull and Solaris TSE once I get them.  The Euphoric, Raging Bull, Solaris, Desperado TSEs will be my house shot arsenal the rest of the year.  I only have a Venator, Euphoria, Blackout, Epicenter, Aftermath Pearl (retired), Requiem (NIB), and Dominion as my current other Seismic pieces.  I love the look of the TSE series so much that I think I can use them confidently for a full league season.  All the other pieces rolled great for me at some point...but I want to continue utilizing the help of the people at bowlingchat.net to maximize the effectiveness of the equipment and my game.  Re-drilling them was an option, but selling them may be the option I choose of some of the others that I did not have laid out by them.  A few that I had drilled by my home shop do match my game...a couple have become condition and surface specific.
On top of the equipment, the customer service provided by Seismic has been the best ever.  Great staffers and a great marketing and managing director in Ryan Press.  Has the customers in mind with their direction....couldn't ask for a better group.
The Seismic System:
Venator
Solaris Requiem
Aftermath Pearl
Dominion
Epicenter
Solaris Blackout (x2); unfortunately 2 cracked
Kinetic Solaris Pearl
Euphoric

Solaris TSE

Thanks for the Welcome, I have threatened for a few years to try Seismic and just never did. Now I am all in and ready to give this a go. Great to hear about the staffers and the service from Seismic themselves.

As with any piece of equipment, it will be critical to get the layouts matching your delivery specs and surface to your intended conditions.  A lot of people jump to conclusions when the ball does not work like everyone else says and doesn't give it a fair shake.  But I'm working to build a stronger arsenal through the means of some knowledgeable people, which in turn has helped developed my technical understanding of my own equipment and style of bowling and what I should expect to see on the lanes based on layouts I have chosen.  I wish you the best of luck with your new pieces and feel free to contact Ryan Press through facebook or Seismic's website directly if you had questions about your equipment.  I have opened that type of relationship up with Ryan (having met him once at the demo as well) and he has been outstanding at answering my questions I have had.  The staffers are great sources of reference as well, but I used Ryan as an example of how in tune with their customers Seismic truly is.

I think you will find that this stuff will allow you to play lanes and conditions easier than some other companies. I can read lanes easier, allowing me to make better adjustments. Also I find I can play closer to friction without worrying about the ball going ape off the spot.

Really great stuff all around anyone I hage sold a ball to has scored well with it
