« on: August 29, 2005, 02:10:48 PM »
I am going to be in Simi Valley cal. starting the 13th to the 30th of september and i will be looking for a good place to bowl.  I want to do as much bowling as possible, maybe even  some tournaments. If someone can let me know about some places to bowl and some good pro shops.

Can't help you much with tournaments as I'm a NorCal guy, but if I'm not mistaken, BrunsNick's shop isn't too far from there.  I believe there are a few other BR.com members up that way as well.

There are 2 centers in Simi.  Harleys is supposed to be a very walled shot and Valley Bowl, though I think they recently changed names.  I don't get out to Simi very often.

In the San Fernando/Santa Clarita Valley there are 11 centers.  I bowl at Corbin in Tarzana and Mission Hills Bowl in Mission Hills.  There is also Rocket Bowl in Chatsworth, it is off the 118 on Desoto.  As far as tournaments, you might want to check Bowling News online at www.californiabowlingnews.com and see what is scheduled.

BrunsNick bowls at least one league at Santa Clarita Lanes.  It is a bit of a drive from Simi, but is a nice center.

As for Pro Shops, most centers have an inhouse pro shops.  I have used The Perfect Game, Eddie Williams runs it in Corbin Bowl and The Pro Zone in Mission Hills Bowl run by Rusty Bryant.  Both are very good, with the Pro Zone being a little larger.
