Southpoint Lane Conditions - Las Vegas, NV
« on: May 10, 2008, 06:12:27 AM »
Does anyone know what the THS is here?  I am bowling a tournament there in June, tournament staff traditionally keeps the normal house shot for their tournament which has been at The Gold Coast, Sam's Town, The Orleans, and the old Showboat in years past.

Rather easy.. I bowl leagues there on Friday nite. Just a normal 38ft shot with dry right and dry backends.

Plays alot like the old showboat they will have there new Kegel Lane machine going by then, just talked to Billy Walker the center manager last night about it.

He is going to slightly beef up the oil in the middle and leave the outsides pretty much bone dry, one of the dead easiest places to bowl. I guess that's why i love it so much there hahaha

You will need something like BW solid for the first game and pretty much anything else you want to use every other game. If you get too 5-6 games without reoiling something like a Hornet or slate blue gargoyle will be needed.

I play on a 5 man league by game 3 bone dry is the word, you can move toss right or play with something weaker more direct.

New  update i bowl here on6/9/12 the THS is 7 to 7/ 40 foot. They say 2 to 2 but there is a big difference in the amount of oil outside of 7. Inside is very slick. My normal speed is around 17 on the screen. With a stopwatch at South point I was closer to 15.5. Slow speed lots of hand and dont miss outside. I bowled 617 scratc/ 683 handicap which is average for me. Finished 7th in singles. Top guy shot just about 720
