Got this ball drilled up so it could be thrown by me. The ball does everything I want it to do. The ACCU-tread finds dry and turns and when it turns, it hits with a lot of force. Good looks, Good smell, Good reaction, Good hitting power, and Good price makes this an excellent ball by Storm

I got my Eraser about 6 months ago. I mainly got it because I have a friend who used to constantly beat me with it and both of us throw almost the same way. Plus I've read good reviews about it. When I got that ball on the lanes, I found my best ball ever! I threw strike after strike and I was amazed at what it did for me. Now, I've been entering adult leagues and tournaments at my local bowling center and have been winning almost always. My advice, GET AN ERASER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Smile you've been Erased!

Got my Eraser resurfaced, and moved the thumb up a bit (shortened my span) to give me the feel of all my other equipment. Ball still hits, hooks, and carries like it did day one. Pin in between fingers, more of a leverage drilling, lots of length before making a strong move to the pocket. Have become more versatile this year, able to play in and out, and this ball works great for both. Can take some hand out, throw it about 17-18mph with about 300rpms and play 2-3rd arrow. Or I can move in to 3-4th arrow, slow down to about 16+mph, pick the revs up to about 400+ and give it more banana, same result both times. House I am bowling in this year seems to carry better from the outside line, where messengers fly constatly and have been able to slowly figure out the shot before it starts to break down. When it does I switch to my Ultra Hot to keep the similar line and continue to bury the pocket. Does leave the back row on occasion, but what ball doesnt??? Very predictable still, still hooks as much as I need it too, and still carries high and light hits very well. 9 out of 10 still, even after almost 2 full years of non-stop useage. Thinking of picking up another with a different drilling to see how else can use this ball.

had to have mine resurfaced due to damage from a pinsetter.

Same results......

ball is very versatile....

can play straight up 10 when there wet, or swing 20 when they are bustin, and it still rips racks. Last 2 nights shot 275-259-245=779 and 239-259-299=797!!!

This one is drilled with pin on grip center line directly below the fingers, with the CG swung out 3". Required a small weight hole. Produces medium track flare and extra length. Mine is polished.

For the price, you can't pass up this ball. The Too hot is also a good one for more hooking conditions.

I wanted to give an update of this ball since I've moved my line at the house I use it. Stand at 25 and roll the ball over 15 (3rd arrow from right channel. I'm righthanded.)I don't know how far this ball swings out before beginning it's trek to the pocket, but using a different line has allowed me to use this ball every frame of every game. We've only bowled four weeks in this league so far, but I've bowled a 599, 659, 721, and a 667. Average of 220. Last year averaged a 199 using a different ball. It's early, but I am encouraged that this will continue. No surprises, very consistent reaction to the pocket. If you've thought of buying an Eraser I highly recommend you follow through and get one.

I got this ball redrilled with pin next to ring finger, cg kicked out a little. The reason I got it redrilled was because the other drilling wasn't working at all for me. I also got the ball polished.

I'm still med revs, with medium speed bowling on synthetics with wood backends.

This ball has not hooked at all since I've had it like it did the first 4-5 months. After that time, the ball almost seemed to die. I take care of my stuff, using hot water to extract oil and cleaning with degreasers. The ball still hits pretty hard, but not as hard as it did. The pro shop said this eraser was one of the newer ones that had smaller logos and that Storm may have changed the formula for it. They said some people have had the Eraser for years and it still hits like new. This wasn't the case for me.

I use this ball now for dry lanes, it usually doesn't burn up. I play down and in usually, or swing the ball out to 3-4 board. Hits pretty well, but not as it did a while back. A good ball still, just not the big hooker, it can have trouble on medium oil with no backends.

I Love this ball alomst as much as my el nino gold. I keep this one polished, it's drilled w/the pin the ring finger, the cg kicked out to the right center of the span and no extra hole. The versitilty of these storm balls is terrific. This ball hits hard, has no trouble turning the corner, and lets you get away w/tugging it. Would give it a 10, if it wasn't for the lack of carry on the 10pin. One of the greatest storm balls in my opinion, and many others as well.

I used to own one of these balls. It was drilled with the pin under the ring finger and the cg kicked out right, with an extra hole. I got great length with the ball and it had an amazing angle. It got through the heads very well, which allowed it to save energy for the backend.

Old House: The shot there was typically medium length, with a dry backend. At this house, I got excellent results with the eraser. I bowled two 278 games, as this ball would get down the lane and turn the corner hard. It recovered if I missed right, and it held if I missed left.

After Moving: When I got up here to Michigan, I could not find an ideal house for this ball. At one house, it just skidded to about 45, then flipped extremely hard, very difficult to control, and basically left the solid 9 pin when I did get it in the pocket. At other houses, I could not get this ball to move at all. It gave me the same amount of hook as my Chaos (just later), which has now gone through the "TEC Death" that I've heard about. It was ok at some houses, but I never got the same reaction I did from that house in Virginia. I ended up selling my Eraser to somebody with a lower RPM rate, and it worked great for him.

Overall: Good ball for a shorter oil pattern, works good on fresher conditions, dies on carrydown. Semi-versatile, not for heavy oil. Gets through the heads better than any ball I've ever owned. I'd give it an 8.5/10

Ive had my eraser for a year now and its been one of my favorite balls. Its drilled with the pin right next to my ring finger and the cg swung to the middle of my grip. This ball is amazing on wood surfaces, I havent had much use on sythetics with it. It gets exceptional length and gives a great angular move on the backend. I must say it is a very versatile ball and a great overall ball for anyones bag. This is a great ball if you are bowling on wood it really reads the lane and then makes a strong move. I have played mostly straight up the second arrow with it on synthetics and it still works just as good as when its swung over the 3rd arrow on wood. I have it in the shop now getting resurfaced and plugged and Im going to try out a different layout to see how it works...I might go with a stacked drilling but Im not sure yet...Tues we will find out and I will write another review after using it with the new layout.

I wrote a review in early October saying how well I was bowling with the Eraser. This ball was kicking major booty until the middle of November. Since then this ball has been a disappointment. It just would not come up to the head pin like it did the first six or seven weeks. If I missed my mark to the right this ball would not make it back to the 1-3 pocket and I'd have a mess on my hands. Usually a 2-8 or worse, a 2-8-10. I really had to be careful making each shot. I was able to bowl 630's, which last year would have been great, but after having a 223 average into November a 630 wasn't making it.
I cleaned the ball with some generic ball cleaner and it didn't help. Last week I put it in the oven to get the oil to come out of the ball. I had never done this before, but the oil did present itself as the oven warmed up. I used paper towel to wipe the oil off the ball and when it appeared that the oil was all but gone I used hot water and dish soap to clean the ball. This didn't appear to do any good either. I used to rarely use this ball to cover a ten pin spare because it would hook too much and miss the ten pin, but since mid-November this is the ball I have been using for the ten pin.
Overall, though, this is a darn good ball. It still works well depending on the house, but this ball gave up at the house I was having the best luck with it. I would buy another Eraser. I'd drill it to be more aggressive, though. Shoot, for the price, this is an excellent ball.
Jan. 28, 2004....I had this ball given a brief going over with 800 grit sandpaper at the Nationals in Memphis the first of April, 2003. The Storm rep took about five minutes to dull it up. WOW!! this ball was never better. Averaged a 230 for the first six weeks of bowling. Than, it gave it up, again. So, I have just taken it in and had it plugged and redrilled for maximum hook. I also had lifts put in the finger holes. Never bowled with lifts before. I'll be back with the results when I've had a chance to bowl a couple times.

About a year ago I picked up a 16 of this ball.
It really looked good. Too Heavy.

So this one came along (15)but I already had a trauma.
It sat on the shelf about 4 months.
Trauma not drilled right for me, so I finally got around to this beauty.

Pin out 2 1/2 inches. Good healthy top weight near 3.
Formerly a righies ball, I used thumb moved only fingers.

Drilled 4 X 4 1/2 (which looks stacked for me 1/2 inch outside ring finger).
Small weighthole at 6 inches out from grip center to leave me at top of just under 1 and side of 1/2 ounce.

Surface was 1500 with a nice gloss of Black Magic.

My home house is frankly ---- sloppy. OB outside of 10 in the heads and lots of carrydown. Most practice sessions I'd bring this in and it would go straight, just dead straight.

Finally one day it started to probably pick up a little surface and it was a little dryer and it started to go straight and then make a long graceful powerful move to the hole. Smash. Lots of smashes. (it seems to take about 6 games for me to get any pearls I buy new or from righties to start to achieve their total hook).

Next week in league I want to try, a little oilier, dead straight and too late a move at 50 feet back in the bag. Out comes the AMF Evolution Extra(carrydown king).

This week in league out is the AMF in practice, too early is the break point, out comes the Eraser bam that's the look!
(I haven't even scored a game with it yet). Right off the back a couple of quick 220s no opens. Most shots long long long and it looks like it is never coming back and then that strong move that covers a lot of boards bam.

Shots played varied from 11 to 8, 11 to 6 13 to 11 all resulted in smash mouth!
The only time I left sevens was if I bellied too much like 13 to 4, but it still came back!

This ball looks like a real winner for me. Slotted as the longest/weakest in my I need strong backend arsenal. It slots beneath my AMF Extra(shortest), and my shock Zone for length. The coverstock provides a lot of push and can go straight straight straight or be swung slightly.

The move is very smooth and readable but big. Lots of flare for me on a ball approaching 6 inches. Storm balls always flare more for me than other brands.

Other balls that nearly react similarly for me but different.
My elusive but spectacular demolition zone. The demo has a little less push and a rapid and jumpy backend. Flare on the demo for me is only 3 1/2 inches.
My Rebel Ecx was very similar to this eraser but would tend to grab in the midlanes just a little bit quicker. My Ti Messenger drilled with more pin has an extra snap curl at the back that is hard to control but really hits.

Just a notch behind my Red Fuze in its ability to handle medium oil conditions with moderate carrydown this ball is about 3 boards weaker but so much more controllable.

Probably the most controllable pure big hooking pearlish reactive I've used I could see dulling this up for a little more head oil as I've seen on the pro tour. However, for right now I like the easy push to my breakpoint and the great read the ball gives me to the hole!

PS again to rate as good or better than the Rebel Ecx or Demolition Zone is saying a lot. Only because it covers more conditions. I'm recommending this ball to one of buddies who loves the ER on heavier head oil with carrydown for a little lighter heads with similar carrydown. He's seen it and loves the look too!

Loved my Eraser, primarily used it for lighter conditions and when the lanes / heads were breaking down. Usually something I can use up 5 or so and have it walk right in.......

Hit never gave up for the time I had the ball. I know why it was so popular for so long.

Well this ball is AMAZING to say the least... I can't really swing it THAT far on Med. oil but I would prefer to play straighter...(15 out to 5) but can swing it out on drier conditions (30 out to 10)

Carrydown isn't a problem with this ball...still reads and rolls up great...on longer patterns it tends to go a teensy bit longer but still rolls up great.

Carry is great...very versatile ball...definitely a ball I would love to see brought back...

I have had this ball for years now and I will now post my review. I'm a stoker with medium to high speed with medium to high rev rate (all depending on condition). In my opinion, this ball can be is very versitile. It's not a ball for a cranker but for someone who wants the ball to go nice and long and come up strong, this would be a good ball. I went into a slump with it (my fault, not the ball) and I switched to an ancient blue Hammer. I did good with it, shot 3 700's with it but I needed something much more powerful. I recently switched back to my Eraser and have been bowling good with it. I usually bowl once a week because I'm broke and I can't afford to bowl anymore than that (thats a whole other story). I've been bowling with it for three weeks and I've been over 650 each time I've bowled with it. For three weeks I've shot 664, 655, and a 685. That's pretty good for a 4 year old ball I haven't thrown in a year.
In my opinion, it's a pretty good ball but it's kind of outdated and doesn't hit near as hard as the recently released balls. It's good for medium to dry oil. It also depends on how you drill it too. Keep that in mind when you want to get it redrilled. Tell the driller how you would like it to hook and how long you want it to go before it breaks. I rate it a 8 out of a 10. It's above average but there are better out there.

i just picked up a 16 lb used eraser for 80 dollars and i shot 792 with it right after i got it drilled up. the shot might have only been a ths with 3 games of league bowled on it but with a label drill i bowled 16 games total and only had to move 2 boards with my feet left and my mark 1 board left the whole time. For 80 dollars i believe it was money well spent. The ball just ignored the heads and midlane and just kinda tilted over at 45 into the pocket, none of the standard start on 30 toss out between 10-15 at the arrows out to 7 and come flying back more of just a straight up 10 at the arrows and a slight tilt to smash the pocket. Since being used i believe that it lost a small tad of its power because nomatter how good i threw the ball if it hit light it always left a 10 or a 7 and normally at this house you can carry all day with light strikes the 10's are un-avoidable. Other than those small occurances it is a great ball and recommend 1 to all who want a fall back on ball for those tough shots.
