Got the Reign of Fire after said and done debating between this and the Invasion and tried it out in the last two game of league and it has a very interesting reaction to say the least. Compared to a couple of other Storm balls I have in my bag, I had the ball laid out around a 4x4...similar to a used, El Nino drilled the same and have that ball surfaced with a green scotch brite surface. Hooks way earlier to my El Nino, has a nice hard jolt of a mid lane reaction but subtle after 45 feet and not continuous and sets near the pins. However when it hit the pocket it annihilated the pins even harder then my Gravity Shift. On a side note the ball made me hungry how good it smells and nearly had the desire to take a bite into the ball...lol

I've had this one for about 2 months, time for my review-  In the OOB condition, I  felt it hooked a bit early for my liking. I changed it to a 2000 abralon surface, and it is now much smoother, a "hard arc" on the back end. Out in Reno in March for the USBCs, I used it for team event the first two games with success.
Last night, used it in a 4 game sweeper on a pattern (2009 USBC Clash of Champions)...definitely a ball for oilier, tougher conditions. I tried it on two different typical house shots at league, too strong for that. The hit is very impressive, and I am very satisfied.

This ball was a lot more than i expected! Rolls pretty strong then makes a strong angular move to the pocket...definitely need some volume to use this piece but it sure does hit like a TON when used properly. Without enough volume in the front of the lane the ball tends to lose hitting power but it never fails to get to the pocket. I call it my "no-quit" ball! It just never stops going! Storm just keeps putting out the great products and makes them an easy choice when it comes time to purchase a new piece of equipment...Thanks again to the wonderful people at Storm bowling!

I drill my ball to get down the line  and more backend   i have a 263 200 223 games on it this is one of my favorite storm ball very versatile ball  i use it on medium oil  at 4000  and heavy oil at 1000  and pin location  is above ring finger

im 17 years old  I lay the ball down on the second arrow in any house in hooks for the pocket it hits so hard form back end its ridicules. i throw a down and in shot it is a great ball in my mind. for any one looking for so power in they shoot

Lay Out: 4.75" from PAP at 45* PAP angle and 65* VAL angle. Dual angle measurement would be 45/4.5/65. The pin ended up below my ring finger I added a weight hole down on gradient line P4. Out of the box this layout was very tight flaring and the weight hole opened up the flares more

Surface: I have left it at box which is 1000abr. I have been using Turbo Strike Wipes to remove the dirt but haven't thrown it enough to touch up the surface

Purpose: I wanted to have a strong/rolly/earlier ball for longer patterns and higher volumes.

Lane Condition observations: I have thrown this on our house shot and the PBA X version of the Shark. On the house shot it had to stay in the puddle or it would just deflect off the pocket. This layout is too early to get in the dry too quickly. As long as I crossed some oil, it was very good. On the Shark, it was almost too much ball and kept me moving more left.

Final Thoughts: The motion is very early along with the 1000abr surface. This might get smoothed and shined more so I can get some versatility out of it for medium patterns where I need the ball to slow down at the spot instead of jumping off the spot.

I had this ball since about a week after it came out and I love it.The storm Reign of fire is one of the best balls for Heavy oil lanes.I have this ball drilled with a med rev and speed with someone who likes too swing the ball out and It works great.But the one bad thing is if You use it too much it will dry the lane out so much it screws you up.Also the factory finish is At factory finish.Overall this ball is great.

This ball is great for heavy oil lanes. It hooks a lot and it hits the pins pretty good. This is a great ball for someone that control something that hooks a lot.

Likes:  I use this ball when the Heavy oil is out on the lanes.  I'm a right hand low speed/low rev stroker. This ball goes perfect right down the 7 board and right in to the pocket it's the hardest hitting ball I have.  Perfect control as long has oil doesn't dry up.


Dislikes:  None.

Looking to purchase a slightly used 16lb Reign of Fire. I have thrown a lot of storm balls, currently using a Hy-Road, and would like to add this to my bag. MSG me with offers please.
 
I am currently a college bowler at Penn State and want this as my high oil ball.

Likes:GOOD CARRY. FAIRLY VERSATILE. 


Dislikes: PURCHASED FOR LONGER OIL PATTERNS HAVE DRILLED OUT WITH A WEIGHT HOLE FOR EARLY ROLE SANDED TO 1000 ABRALON. NOT WHAT I EXPECTED. IT DOESN'T GET THE JOB DONE. ALSO HAVE A FURIOUS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THEM IS ABOUT 2 BOARDS WITH THE FURIOUS DRILLED STACKED AND OOB COVER.  SURPRISE! SAME COVERSTOCK.  FOR THE MONEY I WOULD STICK WITH THE FURIOUS AHND JUST DRILL MORE AGGRESIVELY.

At the beginning of the year, I had no idea what bowling balls to get, so the first recommendation was the Reign of Fire. The consistency of the hook of my Reign of Fire is such that it is my lead off ball. I am able to read the lanes well from it's reactions and can thus decide what ball changes or movements I should then make. The more gradual hook is one that I use on shorter patterns. With my high speed, the ball hooks just enough to give me a good pocket angel and thus, nice pin action. Overall, I have been very happy with my Right of Fire.

I love my Reign of Fire! I throw at a medium speed and although I do not have a lot of revs my reign of Fire would still get great reaction on the lane. This is usually the first ball out of my bag because it is able to be reactive with heavy and medium oil. Although I usually can’t use this ball on house conditions it is great at for first blocks of tournaments because of its aggressiveness, its earlier midlane read, and great back end power.
