Hi All,

I'm proud to present to you The STORM Hy-Road Video.

http://www.videoballreviews.com/hyroad.html

MY Take on the ball:

With this release storm has combined the covers of two of the best balls in the line up, the T-Road Solid and T-Road Pearl.  This "new" hybrid cover really matches up well with this proven core.

For me this ball does exactly what storm says it is supposed to do, it fits right in between the solid and the pearl.  For me the Hy-Road combines the mid lane read of a t-road solid with the backend reaction of a T-Road Pearl.  In my opinion you could have an excellent 3 ball arsenal with the 3 Road Balls....

The two balls i drilled for the video complement each other nicely, when the stronger/earlier 4.5 x 3 starts reading the lane too early i can switch directly to the 5.25 x 4 and bump my feet back right, with the ball retaining the same assertive move off the dry.

Great release from storm filling the big gap between the Solid and Pearl!

As always comments and questions are welcome.

Great video as always.  The Hy-Road will definitely be in my bag as I have both the solid and pearl.  It was interesting to me to notice that the first Hy-Road didn't seem like it moved that much sooner than the second despite the different drillings, it seemed like they both got down the lane pretty well.  Do you prefer the first or second drilling?

Also, it seemed like it performed even better on the Highway to Hell pattern, which I bowl on a lot and I'm sure you know, it's definitely not an easy pattern.  It seemed like the Hy-road responded a lot better even with the flatness of that pattern.

It all depends on what the shot is like...for instance last time i bowled league i had both gravities and both hy-roads in my bag...we bowled a team who likes to use alot of surface so the shot transitioned fairly quickly which forced me to move and switch balls quickly...i started with the 5.5 pin to pap Virtual, then when that hooked too early i went directly to the 4.5 pin to pap hyroad...as the heads and track really started to burn that ball started reacting too strong and too early off the dry, so a quick switch to the 5.25 HY-Road allowed me to shoot 279 the last game...i was able to stay in the same part of the lane all night and maintain a great angle for carry

The Hy-Road really turns the corner nicely when it hits friction...not to the extent of a Rapid Fire Pearl or T-Road pearl, but still its a very strong, assertive move...

I also had a good look playing up the gutter with the stronger hy-road in the Out of bounds area on the HTH pattern...you still had to be accurate but when it got to the pocket it left no doubt!

No, that is a fairly safe place for a weight hole for me and its not that deep that it would effect the ball reaction a ton, it was more for static purposes.  It is legal but i have the option of making it deeper or wider if i want to tune the reaction...although i always recommend to everyone else to throw a ball before you put a hole in it!

The second one did not need a hole, i got what little sideweight it had out with the ring finger...

Britton,

How does the Hy-Road compare to either the Rapid Fire Solid or the pearl?  Comparing them to the layouts you used in your Rapid video's.  Thanks

Awesome video once again Britton. I've almost got enough games on mine for a review, but really don't feel like I need to as between you and Riggs you've stated everything I would haha.

I'm very happy with how it rolls, its a perfect ball for medium length patterns and i'm sure it would be a great benchmark (though I have that spot taken with my Thunderstruck Solid).
