Hello Stormers

I am in a quandary and advice is needed! I bought a Gravity Shift from raiderh20boy (a.k.a. Gene, btw a great guy) a couple of weeks ago

Anyway, I told him that I would like a high end pearl and we both agreed on the
Gravity Shift, anyway, just recently I have been bowling with my Dimension and I have been bowling great with it.

In fact I have been doing so well with it that I am thinking about getting the 2D
to go a long with the Dimension but since I already have the Gravity Shift should I just get the Gravity Shift drilled or should I exchange the Gravity Shift for the 2D.

I cant even believe that I am typing this but that is what the Dimension has done to me...it is one sweet ball and fits my style to a "T".

P.S. my Gravity Shift is still in undrilled.

Mr. Big Jake,
In my opinion you are trying to compare apples to oranges. Remember the Gravity Shift has a asymmetrical core, and will give a much different shape on the lanes than your Dimension will. I'm not saying the you won't like the Gravity Shift, but if I were to go to ball down from the Dimension, and you like the Dimension so much, it would either be a 2nd Dimension or Hy-Road.
I would keep the Gravity however as asymmetrical have there place, as they give you a different look through the pins than symmetrical balls do. Not knowing your physical game makes it tough to analyze, but this is my opinion.

Thanks Nathan, yup I know the GS has a asymmetrical core and thats one of the reasons that I got it but with the Dimension rolling so nicely for me and after

seeing a couple of videos of the 2D it really got me wondering but maybe I will do what you suggested and just get the 2 D also

I personally find the Gravity Shift to be one of THE most versatile balls ever. I can safely say I've used it on all 5 animal PBA patterns, the US Open shot, and almost any kind of THS. The only thing I can't use it on are bone dry, open play lanes where the oil is pushed down 2 feet in front of the pins.

I use mine as a step down from my Dimension (both drilled similarly) when I need it to go longer but still have that back-end pop. I know it has a rollier core than the Dimension, but it is a polished pearl. It starts up sooner but hooks later down the lane, for me anyway. I think these two are an amazing 1-2 punch and I usually bring them wherever I go.

To go along with Nathan's post, with the Gravity Shift being an Asymmetrical Pearl and the 2D being Symmetrical Pearl you're looking at two different reaction points depending your style of play. Traditionally with myself and customers of mine who have both balls, the Gravity Shift is a longer skid/flip reaction type. Down Lane and sharper breakpoint but very controllable. Great for some of the longer flatter patterns The 2D, albeit pearl, creates more of a stronger mid-lane roll. Great for medium length and some of the shorter patterns.

Both covers are very tunable, although I personally think the 2D can go much lower than the Gravity Shift grit wise. They both a spot in the bag so for me to say "exchange" would be hard.

If you were to look for a ball to switch to when the Dimension is too much, the 2D would be the better option of the two, but getting out of that line would be a better option, like going to a Hy-Road or even a Street Rod.

I'm sure you'll be happy with whichever decision you make though, good luck.

If you love your Dimension def. get the 2D. I love mine, the thing really scoots on the backend. If the backends are squeaky it WILL outhook my mighty shift ( Gravity core R2S Particle cover)

I have to agree with both Justin and Nathan about the two. I own both and have them currently in oob. The Gravity Shift will go longer and have more backend but it is very controllable. I tend to use it for longer heavier patterns. The 2D has an earlier read and is a little smoother on the backend than the GS. Both are winners in my book but if you like the Dimension's reaction and want something simular, I would go with the 2D.
