New addition to the Premier Line is a solid version of the Absolute called the Absolute Power. Again featuring the Sentinal core but wrapped this time in a solid version of the R2S Deep cover that made it's way to the states for the first time on the absolute. The added texture of a solid cover does indeed add the POWER to this absolute.
I was very excited for this release as the R2S deep cover was very good to me. With my lower ball speed, and the early friction in my home center, the updated covers are often too strong and force me to get creative to get them through the front of the lane. I've been waiting for a solid benchmark motion ball that is a little cleaner and this is the one I've been waiting for.
I tested the Absolute Power in league and immediately was a little surprised with how much energy it retained down-lane. This cover seems to be just right for me on our lane surface as it clears the fronts but doesn't miss the mids and it really motors off the back of the pattern. As a result it is a touch stronger than I anticipated but because of it's exceptional continuity I can stay in it much longer than most balls in it's hook category.
With the drastic transition of in our center I'm usually overjoyed if I can stay in a ball past a single game. Despite being a bit further left than anticipated to start the night I had no issues getting through the first two games. While I certainly wouldn't call the Absolute power quick or snappy off the spot it has no issues covering boards and stayed useful until I ran out of left to move on the right lane. Motion wise it gives me Phaze II vibes just more of everything that makes the Phaze II great.
I feel that the Absolute power is a ball which will fit alot of games. It's certainly strong enough for people who are rev challenged and If I can get it down-lane most anyone should be able to, so lower ball speed bowlers should really like this ball as well.
