after 2 tournaments, an overview of my arsenal.
« on: July 31, 2009, 12:15:03 AM »
first tournament was kegels highway to hell pattern 2 weeks ago. second was last night, usbc nationals shot. ive had about a year and a half layoff from tournaments, ive had some health and personal issues and having resolved both im hitting the lanes again. highway to hell was 45 feet, usbc nationals is 40 feet crown. heres my take on my arsenal, any suggestion you might have feel free to pass along to me! see my profile for drillings and my specs!
1- virtual gravity: this ball has been my life saver! after a couple of surface adjustments, its at 2000 with lite polish. on both patterns i was able to open the lanes up to the right from really deep, but i really had to ramp up my speed because of the continuation on the back of the pattern. if i missed it better be right.
2- paradigm: im really disappointed in this ball right now. ive had three of these. the first one i had was pure gold, but it cracked, ive had two since and cant find the reaction i had of the first one. in both tournaments i got a massive mid lane read and then dead left turn. considering a redrill with the pin 5 1/2 to 6" pin to pap to get more push on this one, and hopefully get it under my virtual.
3- hot rod ss: this ball is strange for me. super rolly, but just doesnt have alot of pop on the back like id like. while i get super mid lane with the upper end stuff, this ball doesnt have that look i like from inside. its not a bad ball by any means, but when ive already chased the shot inside of 25, this ball forced me back almost to the track to get it to face up to the pocket, no tug area. and if i stayed inside if 25 with it, it never read the backend of the pattern properly. considering a weight hole, but more than likely will play with the surface.
4- amf angle evoloution pearl-: this ball is old but man is it SICK! after the chasing the pattern in i finally put the vg down and picked up this bad boy. it reads the friction to the right just nasty! i can stay in the same general area as the vg, i think it needs a touch more polish to give me a step down from the vg. actually this ball fits in where i wish the paradigm would. and they are drilled almost identical.
5- last but not least original eraser- only threw it in practice, but its the one ball that will never come out of my bag, get through the heads with ease, but rarely sees action any more because of volumes.
