Attitude Shift on the way
« on: October 10, 2007, 11:49:57 AM »
Got my shipping info from Storm today - staff balls have gone out and mine is scheduled to arrive next Tuesday. If work is not too crazy next week I hope to drill it before the weekend of Oct. 20-21 and have a chance to use it and get an initial report up quickly.

Attitude Shift (and Ice Storm) arrived yesterday afternoon. Aiming to drill Friday and throw this weekend and then post some initial impressions.

How are you going to drill it Jeff?  Leave it OOB surface?  What patterns would you likely use it and how does it fit in your line-up?

Ice Storm is a spare ball.

Planning to do the Attitude Shift like my Shift - pin over bridge with CG a couple inches right of my grip center (about 60 degrees). Goal is to take advantage of strong dynamics of ball with a strong drilling that gets down the lane and turns hard. Will leave it Box to start. Would assume it would be a ball to open up the lane so it would be for easier patterns or harder patterns that have been broken down some so there is some area.

Am bowling a tournament Saturday where pattern will be a challenge pattern that typically requires balls that don't change direction strongly so not sure if it will get any use.

So they are bringing that Ice Storm out over here?  I notice the one on bowling.com looks different from the international one on Storm's site.

My Ice Storm is kind of a swirley (is that a word?) green/blue. Also shiny but I will be hitting it with 500 Abralon to take away the squirt.

Sorry guys but can't provide a report today. On first shot with the Attitude Shift yesterday my thumb insert came flying out of the ball. Whoops! I do my own equipment and usually sand my thumb holes a little before installing inserts. So I think I sanded this one a little much and then did not use enough super glue. Re-glued this morning and aiming to get out and at least try it on a house shot this week. (Actually it would not have mattered if the thumb had stayed in because the shot we bowled on yesterday had very little oil and had to use shiny stuff.)
The Ice Storm worked great, though - only missed one spare all day.

Bar, the good news is I don't drill balls for other people - I couldn't afford the liability insurance!
