I love it. Gives you a great asym compliment to the Hy-Road Pearl.

I have them both drilled pretty similar. Code Black maybe even a little more skid/flippy layout. The Code Black is stronger up front and handles a little more oil. It's still angular, but not quite as much as the Hyroad Pearl. The HP is definitely one of the most angular balls I've ever thrown. I had one in 15, and just got one in 14. So quick off the spot. Code Black isn't quite as quick.

For me, the Code Black is a turd....and I don't say that about many balls.  I can usually find a condition for them but I've truly only used it once where I was like, "ok this could work."  I find it very over-under and "squirty".  If you don't hit up on it, it slides.  I've tried moving around, playing straighter, playing deeper, thrown it in different houses but always end up putting it away without any luck.  I would say I've probably only got 10 games on the ball total because I could only get it to do what I wanted 1 time and that renewed my hopes, only to be dashed other times out.  For me the Mission Unknown is stronger, reads the mids WAY better and is stronger.  I'm a storm guy and usually throw only storm.  I bought the Unknown hoping to find a gold one and make some $ but ended up with 5 of them and all black so I drilled one up.  It out preforms my Code Black hands down.  I am intrigued by the Code Red as I loved my VE which was  a high-end hybrid asym.  I was so excited for the code black that I bought 2 and an will just hold onto the other to make some $ in the future.  I know you're going to say change the surface, but I HATE changing them.  Taking the shine off might help and I might be inclined to do so if the code red weren't coming out.  Once you mess with surfaces the value goes down as well.  If anyone wants a partial used (10 freakin games) i'd let it go for 110 shipped.  Just my 2 cents 

FWIW:  I've found that every R2S and R2X coverstock with polish to be "squirty"

I second and third hating their 1500 grit Polish.... I call it the 'Inconsistent grit polish).

I know you're going to say change the surface, but I HATE changing them.  Taking the shine off might help and I might be inclined to do so if the code red weren't coming out.  Once you mess with surfaces the value goes down as well.

That doesn't make much sense to me. If I were buying a used ball the first thing I would do is make sure whatever surface I want on it is fresh. It's such a minor thing to do these days and changing the surface back and forth to whatever you want is so easy that I can't see how the value would be impacted.

The exception being a NIB undrilled ball that somebody wants mint, but that's not the situation here. Definitely play around with the surface to see if changing it makes the ball work for you. The differences can be staggering, and it's a lot cheaper than buying a new ball.

The value goes down once you mess with surface? Who are you talking to? In no way has a surface change ever made me say "that ball is worth less now!"

Anyone that tells you otherwise is trying to get you to lower the price. Once you plug it and cut down the plug, the ball isn't going to have the same surface anyways!
