Cores in 13 lb balls...
« on: August 16, 2007, 10:22:14 AM »
Anyone got any idea if the cores in 13lb storm balls (specifically the X-factor Range) have proper cores?

They do not use the same RAD, RAD3, or RAD+ core that the rest of the X-factor and Paradigm lines use.  I believe they use a simple lightbulb core.  They do not have a marked mass bias, one of the women I bowled with last year has a 12# or 13# Vertigo and it's just pin/CG.

I have brought a few 13lb balls from the X-factor range into the shop and all have had the MB marked... both the X-Factor Friction and the Trifecta both had them anyway...

I'm thinking, you see, that if the MB is marked, it must be a decent core.. and not just a lightbulb...

Anyone from Storm care to comment??

I was told by Storm back in November that they use the same shape core at 13# in their Master and Premier lines only.  All other lines are not the same in the lighter weight.

I was given this info as it relates to 13# so I don't know if it differs at 12#.

You can e-mail or call them directly for further info.  I found them to be very helpful. They were kind enough to send me an rg and differential chart for their entire line at all weights which I found to be very useful.

Hope this helps.
