Did Randy say the Virtual Gravity is PARTICLE?
« on: February 22, 2009, 03:39:50 AM »
Just now when Randy was showing the 5 different kinds of bowling balls through the generations... after he got done with the Thunder Road and saying it was a Reactive ball... the next ball on the rack was a Virtual Gravity, in which he said was a little stronger with it being a Reactive Particle.

I thought the Virtual Gravity was a PURE Solid Reactive ball?

Thanks!

I wouldn't be surprised if it is particle.  Although it seems like there aren't as much particle balls around, I believe companies are still using them but not advertising it because if particle's low popularity.  I always use to wonder how companies come out with so many "different formulas" of solid reactive covers.  It just makes sense to me that they just put "special additives" like particle.

VG is the newest high end storm ball, and probably most aggressive in their line, what did you want them to show for a particle ball? an original shift? a jolt particle?? of course not!! marketing people!!!!

The Dimension has the same coverstock. It may be like the Mega friction and have a small particle load in it...

Im sure a lot of bowling balls on the market have some load of particle in the covres but are only marketed as reactive.  Either way it's a great bowling ball.

The Mega Friction has a fairly large/high particle load. It is 6%, according to a 900 Global rep. That's huge compared to many which state they have 1 - 3% particle load.

Or, it has nothing to do with the ball since he never named it, and was just stating the facts about a particle ball.

Couldn't they have showed a 2nd Dimension?  Or are we still not calling that one a particle ball?

somebody in another thread tossed around the term liquid particle.   its an oxymoron.   i believe what they were talking about was the plastizers that evaporate and making the coverstock super porous thereby eliminating the need for particles.

at least thats what i THINK they meant.

Dude it's so 2008 to call particles particles.  Now we call them liquid particles or MICA to make it confusing.

Is that akin to a liquid lunch?

I never liked the way Storm's rubberized particles felt. It always felt like my bowling ball was hairy or something. It was a very weird feeling. I wonder how these "liquid particles" feel like in comparison...
