Revamping aresnal ( edit Long )
« on: July 04, 2008, 07:10:29 AM »
Ok finally got my span to were it feels perfect. Just got back from nationals and I was basically going to get my span checked. Stoped at the storm booth talked with mark anderson, really great guy and knows what hes doing. Picked up a gravity shift and Rapid fire prl. We changed my span to 4 7/8 cut to cut For both Ring and middle fingers. Finger pitches are 3/8 Left, 1/4 rev Middle, 3/8 right 1/4 rev ring finger, Thumb is 29/32 with 1/8 left 1/4 rev and a 50 Degree oval angle.

We drilled out a gravity shift, stacked  Key next to the thumb, Wight hole on pap. Second we drilled out a Rapid fire prl, i was looking for something to tame the back ends down alittle bit, when they are hooking. We put the pin under the ring finger, Cg above the thumb. Both balls did exactly what i was looking for im really glad i made the trip down here. I will pay off. I might even drill up a nether rapid fire prl, to have more backed really like that reaction Unlike the solid version.

Looking to add on to the arsenal now I really need a oil ball so i was going to consider the dimension, below that I would palce the gravity shift. In between the gravity shift and the rapid fire prl, I was looking at Agent, or Rapid fire solid. Lastly below the rapid fire prl, i was looking at t road Prl, Street rod prl, neptune.

SO Run down looks like this

Dimension
Gravity
? Agent, Rapid fire solid
Rapid fire Prl
? T road prl, Street rod prl, Neptune

I would like to get a pearl particle in there too for some of those tournament conditons but the shift is kinda old, i might just wait for now.

Nationals Review...

Well team event, i didnt expect these lanes to hook so much first off. i used my gravity shift, played 18 to 10 with moderate sucess, lots of bad breaks 4 - 9s and missed spares due to user error... SHot 190 180 170 , i guess thats ok for my first experience. I was sorta out of luck my Gravity hooked to much and my Rapid fire did not have enough hook on the back end, due to drilling ...

Doubles and singles went sorta the same way, started off 202, 180, 190 with the 8th 9th and 10th open... again stupid spares missed same reactions at in teams I needed a ball with more length to it and back end to allow me to open them up, like a domination would of been perfect for this condition. At least we cashed....

Singles shot was even dryer, shot 190 190 150 ish. again struggle to get the ball right of the head pin..

Next time I go to nationals  I will be more prepared it was a great experience. I really enjoy talking to all the ball companies lane masters and storm were very infomational.

Agent after the Gravity. Neptune in the last spot. The T-Road Pearl is too strong for that spot and the Street Rod Pearl might be too close to the Rapid Fire Pearl.

I need a ball that will get down the lane and have a good back end reaction I have a rapid fire prl, but its drilled to roll early, from some of thoes over under condtions. I need a ball that goes long and has back end, Should i drill a nother Rapid fire Prl, like pin over cg out, or drill the agent like that ?

If you're looking for backend, other than the Domination, nothing else will give you more of that than the T-Road Pearl. It's stronger than you may think, but it's very snappy.

Might not be easy to find...but I absolutely LOVE my Fired Up! The only reason I currently don't consider Fired Up current arsenal, is because I'm trying to go all Visionary. I'd definately look for one if you can get your hands on it...
