« on: August 29, 2012, 08:04:30 PM »
Well after a looooong time I got my wife to give up and get a new ball and after talking to our proshop guy we ended up geting her a crossroads. Now the prob well he said it was time for her to get a lighter ball she has allways thrown 16lbs and she gave in and got 15 so the first few weeks I fig she is not doing to great because she's throwing it to the arrows lol now its been allmost 2 mounths and she still does not like the ball well that's not right she does not like the way the ball rolls its too skid flip so I had it sanded now its like the ball is dead what did I do wrong and what can I do to fix it thanks in advance guys

if it is too strong add some polish or sand it on a finer grit. it probably seems dead because it is rolling out on you.
You need to compete for something greater than just winning.

My 2¢ is to make sure you have the ball sanded down to a lower grit and then hit with a higher grit. People tend to just sand the ball with whatever grit they "think" they want to use. Here is the link to Storm's page showing how to restore the surface. https://www.stormbowling.com/tech-sheets/crossroad-techsheet.pdf

The Crossroad is a ball that gets down the lane and that means it will recover down the lane. Personally, I started with my Crossroad at box finish and bowled a track into it and that helped blend the reaction down. Try restoring it to the original finish and then LIGHTLY scuff the ball to just rough up the polish to slow down the back end reaction.

Is there a weight hole in the ball?  How is it drilled?  Is the pin above the fingers or below?
