Domination Question
« on: January 03, 2008, 03:17:41 PM »
I have gotten my hands on a pro pin domination. I have a paradigm ( http://s238.photobucket.com/albums/ff192/The_Bowlers_Edge/layouts/?action=view¤t=P1010113.jpg )that i really like, but when the oil goes away, is way too much ball early, and even if i can get it down the lane, too much ball overall. Since the domination has more pearl (highest load in a storm ball i believe) people i know that have thrown it have said it squirts in oil a bit, making it over/under. My question is for people that have thrown the domination and the paradigm, should i layout my domination exactly like my paradigm and risk it being over/under for the sake of seeing the same reaction w/more length? or should i use a different layout, like a tommy jones layout to get the ball into a roll earlier and smooth out the over/under? Also, I have a ball w/a shorter pin, that is 1 1/2 from my val, 3 in from my pap and the mb is 5 in, right to the right and under the thumb that starts up sooner, what would the effect be of moving my pin either on or past my val and leaving the mb in the same postion?   Thanks in advance.

The Bowlers Edge 2..
The Domination has built in length to begin with as you probably know. My Domination started out with a 2" pin because I wanted to get the ball into an early roll but still have the length. The drill came out to be 4" pin to PAP and 5" to RAD. Small weight hole. I am a stroker and love the Domination on lighter oil patterns. Because with this type of drill I have to make sure I am feeding ball to the right, because when the Domination hits dry is is coming back big time. If the oil carry down starts I usually put the Domination up and pull out something else. With the longer pin I would still drill it as strong as you want to but not for length.

Hey 'E',

I've a Domination and keep it at 2000 grit polished.  When and if I run into O/U, I simply go to another ball, however this ball is a BEAST!!!!  4" pin and due to the fact I'm inverted, well length isn't a problem.  Definite aggressive snap off the dry!  Always remember to chase the oil line to make life easier on myself.

Here's a picture of it http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z163/fbm357/bowling001.jpg

BUMP....in addition, i have drilled a gravity shift the way i was thinking about the domination. pic here http://s238.photobucket.com/albums/ff192/The_Bowlers_Edge/layouts/?action=view¤t=P1010092.jpg
think i'd get a similar reaction w/the domination w/more length? Also, would would happen if i moved the pin closer to the VAL? either on or past? the gravity is a 1 1/2 pin buffer (distance to the val)
