how about a jolt pearl?

cos sometimes when the ball comes back there is no oil ring on it and the ball dun hook prematurely

so i am at a loss of how to bowl with this sort of lanes

even by changing my roll to one of more forward roll is not doing the job

Dry lanes suck, just throw your spare ball/ plastic. When nothing else works I usually send the spare ball up the 10 board and it tears it up.

I would go for dry lanes with a Roto Grip Neptune. It is one of the best bowling balls for dry lanes. But if you want Storm i would go with a ThunderStruck Pearl with a weak drilling.

I know that many people are not sold on the tropical as a dry lane ball, but I absolutely love my pearlized tropical.  I get tremendous length out of it, and because of the cover it is able to recover and get back to the pocket.  I am able to easily change to this ball, move 5 right and be alright.

One adjustment that i have noticed that helps with all of my equipment to get a few extra frames out of a ball or a particular shot is to open my hand instead of keeping everything cupped and ready to unload at the bottom of the swing.  With hand adjustments it may also allow you to play different lines with the same ball to see what will give you the best look because you are getting a different roll from the ball.

You can use any lower flaring ball and just put less hand in it. There is no rule you HAVE to throw a "dry lane ball" for "dry conditions". You are alowed to throw it straighter.
Most people want to put hand on every condition and you just can't if you want to be a good bowler. At least most people.

There are several ways to skin a cat &/or combat dry lanes & the last 3 posts have all touched on them.  Opening your hand, lower flare ball, playing straighter & polish.  Surface change.  Nothing says you can't change the surface before bowling.  If you know lanes are dry ahead of time, then take your weakest ball that's still been hooking on the dry & adjust the surface up w/polish or higher grit, or combination of both until you find what you're looking for w/it.  Open bowling is a good time to experiment.  The last resort is going to a polyester ball.  If that don't work then you just have to adjust your spare shooting to your hook.

I have tried lots fo "dry lane" balls....nothing comes close to Lanemasters Hornet.Great length, small move on the backend, destroys the pins.
Did fing that OOB (800 grit polished) it rolled a bit early on truly dry lanes, so took it to 2000 polished , now fantastic for dry
Compared to others I tried
Tropical was about 6-7 boards stronger
Neptune was about 5-6 boards stronger
Desert Heat was about 5-6 boards stronger
Orbit Extreme Pearl was about 4-5 boards stronger.

I use a Roto Grip Mercury. It is an amazing ball. Small motion very long but still hits like my Cell. It is a great buy right now because bowling.com has them for 69.99 right now. I love this ball it works on everything. I used it to play down and in on the Cheetah and threw a 298.

thank u guys for all yoru advice,
i just got myself a jolt for this purpose,
for mi i used to be a player that changes line and wrist position and surfaces if they dont get what i want outta them
but nowadays i usually keep my equiptment oob

but than by looking tru my arsenal i realised that i definitely do not have a ball in that department as u can see most of my balls in my arsenal are really strong balls so i just went ahead and got myself the jolt.

i was playing in a house shot today with lotsa carry down
if i play 10/5 the ball would just flip and smash into the pocket sending messengers across the deck
but when i hit the carry down part wich is 10/10 ,the ball skids and make a nice little arc into the pocket leaving a lot of 7s,10s

and all of a sudden i was telling myself hey i got something wch i look for and the good old days of playing straighter shots are here again

well done storm for such a piece of equipment though its a step higher than the entry level tropical but it still does the job well
