tenpinitis...i have both the hot wire and deuce, and except for the snap(and the price), there is absolutely no difference.  when i first bought he ball, i was looking for something that could work on medium-dry to dry conditions, which is approximately what storm promoted the ball for.  well, my first jbt tourney dried out fairly quickly, so i picked this ball up and it reacted more than the high end ball i was using before.  it is an absolute bargain.  it makes me wonder why people(myself included recently) even consider buying balls from the x factor line of storm when they can spend 60 bucks less and get the same results.  definitely the underated ball of the year.

i agree with storm warning. while i am not a good bowler (finished with 178 average) i was able to shoot 3 600's in last 6 weeks of season (671, 601, 632) with the hot wire. it is a very forgiving ball and i have had equal success polishing it and using it dull. i am not drilling knowledgable but mine is just straight label drilling. very smooth arc and easy to control on the medium oil wood lanes i bowl on. it hits much harder than expected and frequently has struck on weak shots that look like they should leave a five pin. i am not a die hard storm fan as i started with a trauma response which i did not like at all. but after this one i am going to try another storm (supercharge) this summer.

Jeff, this is a great match-up between core and cover. Don't get me wrong it's not a V2 solid but for $50 less it's a bang for the buck. heavy handers make love to this thing after using it.  Jeff don't forget that cover is 70-90% of reaction except in strong Y spinning cores.

This ball sat on my pro shop operator's shelf for quite a while, and he couldn't sell it, because everyone thought it was such an ugly ball.  Not caring about that I asked how much he wanted for it, he said nobody's going to buy that ball, you can have it for $60 out the door.  Best deal I think I've ever gotten, and this is a ball I can use on a variety of different conditions, from medium-dry to medium-heavy.  Great value, and great ball, just ask Brian Himmler who I believe used the Hot Wire in the finals of the tournament he won this year.
