Hy-road still amazes me
« on: April 02, 2016, 12:32:29 AM »
i owned two hyroads when the first came out and i liked them both. but i had changed ball weight and i sold the two hyroads.

4.5 years later, I finally had another hy-road drilled after the NIB sat in my room for awhile. (ball from charlest) it has a 4x4x2 layout with a p4 and oob cover.

this 2012 model still rocks! just so buttery :D  on the lanes.

no wonder why this ball is still being sold after 7 years....great one from Storm!

These reports make me wonder why Storm continues to try to replace it. Since sales must still be good, I see no reason, especially since they keep upgrading the major source of ball reaction, the R2S coverstock.

I might get another one. I hardly get a ball that matches up with me right out of the box.  My very first hy-road, I had used at a tourney for the first time. I was somewhat struggling at the time, but the Hy-road helped change that.

just the smoothness of the ball motion, the way it goes through the pins, why replace it or ever stop production.

The start of the second half I was in a slump, lost 11 sticks. I've slowly gained 3 sticks back in the last month or so. But the hy-road might help me gain more lol.

I haven't thrown a 2014-16 Hy-Road but I loved the ones before that. It just flat out works. I don't see a ball replacing it for quite some time.

I don't have my Hy-Road anymore(cracked :'(), but my Hy-Wire is way, way stronger off the spot than I remember my Hy-Road ever being, and they were both drilled pretty much the same(pin over bridge, cg kicked right a bit).
