I dont want to rip anyone off, so heres my question.
« on: November 24, 2004, 03:11:52 AM »
I have a triple X factor that is in awesome condition, only has the fingers plugged to go no grips, but Im still not sure if its dead. I want to sell it, or trade it because I am thinking about going to 14#, but I dont want to sell/trade someone a dead ball. Should I have it resurfaced or something to see if its really dead?

if you want, you could put the money into hook again system and after you get it back throw a couple frames with it and see..

I never dreamed it would be me, My name for all eternity, Recorded here at this hallowed place Alas, my name, no more my face. "In the line of duty," I hear them say: My family now the price to pay. My folded flag stained with their tears; We only had those few short years. The badge no longer on my chest, I sleep now in eternal rest. My sword I pass to those behind, And pray they keep this thought in mind. I never dreamed it would be me, And with heavy heart and bended knee, I ask for all here from the past: Dear God, let my name be the last.

No where around here has a hook again system, the closet place is like 45 minutes away. I DID give the ball a really good soaking and wiping down, and that didnt help, and I've been told it could possibly be polished too high.

As long as you tell the person the entire story to start with I think you are fine, buyer beware at that point.   Telling the entire story will tell them that the ball doesn't have a ton of games on it, that it may well be somthing with the polish or the polishing process, but this way you will have given fair warning and let them take the chance after that.

That sucks that nobody around you does the hook again treatment. I go 20 mins away to get mine done.

Next time Im at the shop I'll probably get him to bring it to like 600 dull, and bring it back to around 800-1000 matte.

I have 2 XXX's and neither has died and I don't clean them after every use. I would find it hard to believe it died. However I would say its probably over shined and you have clogged the coverstock.scuff it, clean it, then throw it before you polish it again.
