Just read my e-bowler and saw that Jeff has a cyst on his finger. I am curious how bad it is.

Well here is the official prognosis.....i have a retinacular cyst near the base of my middle finger where it meets the palm. Its a very painful injury that almost forced me to withdraw in Japan. Ive been dealing with this injury all summer long, thinking it was just a tendon problem and it would go away with rest. After i got home from Japan i went to see a hand specialist and he informed me that i have a small cyst in my finger. My options are 1) take a steroid injection that could crush/dissolve the cyst. This is a very painful procedure that carries no guarantee that it will fix the problem. The only up-side is it has a 4-8 week recovery time at most. Option 2) surgery. This is probably the best way to insure that its fixed correctly, but until we know exactly what we're dealing with even that procedure is still a little iffy. If the cyst is attatched to a tendon, the surgery becomes more difficult and carries a longer recovery time.

I plan on bowling the Masters, Taylor and Buffalo. I'm not prepared to give up on the season as of right now. I go back to the doctor November 12th to make my decision on what to do. At that time i will consult with the doctor as to what will be the best way to handle the problem and we will go from there. I've already discussed an injury deferment with commissioner Schreyer, and he gave me a 3-4 week window to make my decision. So as of right now i will be playing the waiting game, but things dont look very promising.

My fantasy bowling team will not be the same without you.  Let's hope this thing heals!

A half ten is not a great shot.  No, you shouldn't have carried it.
