That's a possibility. How does this sound?

Heavy: Triple X
Med-Heavy: Recharge
Med-Light: Hot Wire
Light: Barbed Wire
Control: Tour Power
Spares: Team Storm

Sounds like a good arsenal to me. I agree that the Hot Wire is a great ball for medium to medium-light conditions, very versatile. The Barbed Wire is decent for light oil as well. I am in need of a medium/heavy ball to fit in myself between my Eraser Pearl Particle and Animal...I was leaning towards a Depth Charge to fill that slot.

Nick...  Your latest arsenal thoughts look good, but personally I like the Hot Rod better than the Hot Wire for Med-Light conditions.  I would also be carefull in drilling your ReCharge as it has the same coverstock as the XXX but with a weaker core.  If you drill it too strong you will get an overlap of somekind to your XXX depending on its drilling / surface prep.

Matt..   A Depth Charge would work or maybe a ReCharge.  I would talk with John about it more.  How is that Animal working out for you...John said it hooked a ton!!

You must have a lot of hand and heavy for you doesn't sound that heavy.

I can't imagine a triple X pearl being enough for heavy oil.

Now an Triple X Extreme solid, mmmmm, that might be the ticket!

Lucky...  To your point about the XXX for wet:  I've bowled at Nick's home lanes and bowl within the NE area.  For the most part there are hardly ever any true floods in our area.  I also currently use a matte finish XXX for heavy conditions, but find that I rarely need it.  I have yet to see Nick bowl, but he obviously feel confident with this ball.

Chris: Yeah, I better look at the specs and see what the differences would be in terms of movement for the ReCharge vs the Depth Charge. I need something to conquer the medium/heavy conditions I may see in other houses.

As far as the Animal- it's a great ball. I just couldn't get a consistent read with any of my balls on the scrub shot the owner had out there last Tuesday night in league...

Yeah we have a lot of oil in a few houses but i have never needed anything stronger than my triple x. I bowl JBTs and lanes are mostly med-dry for the most part. I think a hot rod is a good idea.. the original, not the pro stock right? and Should i not get a recharge, leave that gap? will a recharge be too similar to a triple x or a good med-heavy? My reloaded was very similar which is what i used for it before..

I'm not saying that a ReCharge won't work for you Nick...but a Depth Charge will get down the lane a bit more and an X-Factor could also work in that slot.

Really it's a matter of matching ball, drilling and surface prep to your game.  Honestly, your arsenal should work...but will it be optimal for you?  We really can't tell over the net so you should talk with your pro shop and really work through things.

I could buy another original x? I have had great success in the past with it.. I was just intrested in the recharge since its close to my triple x which i love, i think it would still be a good med-heavy but i dont know, a hot rod for med-light though right?

Nick...  Again a Hot Rod works for some people as a med-light ball, but there are so many variables that you should talk with your pro shop guy to make sure it will be good for you.  A Pro Stock will be a little more of an arc compared to the regular HR and a Flash Point might also be a ball to consider.  Depending on how your Barbed Wire is drilled a Razor Wire could also fill that gap.

It's all about match-up and that not something that's easy over the net.

Thanks Chris. I am purchasing my Barbed Wire tomorrow which is the 1st step to my new arsenal. I already have the triple x and the tour power, i am replacing all the other equipment within the next month or so. Next i will order the Team Storm spare ball and then deciede about a med-light oil and med-heavy.

Arsenal I will have chosen as of now:
Heavy: Triple X-factor
Med-Heavy: ReCharge (i know its similar to Triple X but med-heavy and heavy are close anyway)
Med-Light: Hot Rod
Light: Sonic X
Control: Tour Power
Spares: Team Storm

give me more feedback about this.

UPDATE: I updated the original post with aresenal ideas, etc. Give me more feedback.
