That ball was a top of the line ball when it was introduced by storm. Its a particle cover so it will have a smoother roll and not a huge backend reaction, it will react like a particle.
I think it came with a dull cover, but you could sand it to 1500-2000 to get it further down the lane.

I had this ball about 4 years ago and shot my first 300 with it. i liked it so much i bought another one. The ball has the Accu-Tred solid reactive cover with an 800 grit matte finish. It is one of my favorite storm balls. It is a very smooth rolling ball that is very predictable

Azus... It's not a particle coverstock.

I thought this one was solid Accu-Tread.  Anyway, I found this ball to be pretty good but I ended up replacing it with a Special Agent.

Yep, reactive.  I got one a few years ago right when it came out. I hated it, lol.  I was so whippy i couldn't control it on anything, but I do know alot of people that did like it, I wasn't one of them.

Since it's been very used, POTENTIALLY it may hook very little if it is oil soaked. As an intermediate step, after a dull sanding (320 grit?) have the ball rejuvenated first before bringing it back up to the factory finish.

I have a XXX still in my bag, picked it up last year at a good price.  I absolutely love this ball.  It is actually my benchmark ball as I get a predictable reaction from it.  I have mine drilled with the pin right under the ring finger with the RAD below my thumb, and a small but deep weight hole to bring it back to legal.

I have shined it up to about 2000 on occasion, and it seemed to take very well to surface changes.  Good Luck With It!!
