opinions on some ball choices
« on: September 07, 2003, 09:58:27 AM »
ok, right now, the only ball that i want to keep out of what i use now is my deuce.  i want to get 3 more balls and was wondering what you would suggest i get to fit around my deuce.  my specs are in my profile, and as you can see, i'm also on Morehead's bowling team.  so i need some an arsenal that can cover almost any condition.  i would prefer only storm bowling balls.  i was thinkin maybe an x-factor reloaded, x-factor, and a power charge or hot rod, but i would like other suggestions please.
thanks in advance

If you are open to different brands, one I would look at is visionary.

Soup lanes: Burgandy Gryphon (Super Carbide Bomb Lane 1)
Med lanes: Crimson Executioner ( Cherry, or Black cherry Lane 1)
Dry Lanes:  Slate Gargoyle ( XXl or XXXl Lane 1)

I'm not to familiar with the new storm stuff, but I think the duece is on the wet side of med.

Those are the two brands that I am using currently.  I still have and use a Columbia Ti mesenger blk/gld for meds.

I have an Ultra Hot that I like to use on dry, medium-dry conditions.  It is really smooth arcing and very controllable.  Sometimes I'll get to where I'm leaving alot of 10s and I make a slight adjustment and have no more problems.  Some of my best games have been with that ball.  I've also got a Deuce, which I use on oilier conditions.

I do know if this will help you but it helped me when revamping my arsenal. I also think it has helped in better ball selection during play and brought life back to a couple balls that was collecting dust by changing the cover a little to make it fit into the arsenal.
