Razor Wire/Barbed Wire Combo
« on: June 13, 2004, 07:09:49 PM »
For the Storm experts:

How close are the Razor Wire and Barbed Wire?  I guess I'm asking because if I was to put together a two-ball tandem, would these two match up for oily and dry?

My ball speed is 13 mph, 14 on a good day (told you I was Fluffy the Wonder Bowler).  I know the coverstocks differ in one being dullish and one being shiny, but I was wondering if I bought both if I'd have exactly the same ball or if I could drill the shiny one with the pin on the grip line for length if the lanes were dry.

Thankie!

Thanks guys.  I'm going to keep considering the Barbed Wire, since I've already got a Razor Wire waiting to be drilled.  I just won a Power Groove at a tournament over the weekend and I'm still trying to decide if I should keep it or not.  I'm going to post in the Brunswick forum and see what some folks think.

You dont need to go to the b- word forum i can tell you from expierance that the power groove is a waste of your time. I had a fellow employee drill one up and he sold it after only 6 games sell it while you still can.

anyways i have a razor wire and love mine. i have it drilled semi strong and for the 139.99 it hits like a truck. At first i thought it would be to weak but i was wrong. i dont have a barbed wire but ive heard if you have a razor you dont need the barbed. xxx is still my fav.

The Razor Wire is a great ball for today's lane conditions. I thought it was a bit too strong out of the box, so I hit it with a grey scotch brite pad on my spinner, and this really tamed it down. I can go down & in on oil, and open up the lane on dry. I personally think it's Storm's best ball since the original Eraser.
