Is the Reign with the Reign of Fire  a good
1-2 combo?

I think this is a great combo!! With the 1000 abralon surface of the ROF that ball handles all kinds of oil and when it starts hooking to early you pull out the Pearlized version (reign) and that conquers the carrydown and gets thru the heads.  I have mine drilled the same.. but you could go with a low pin on the ROF and a high pin on the Reign and you should be set.  Hope this helps

Invasion to a Fast seems to be missing a ball or two. I think TJ hit the nail on the head. ROF pin under, Reign pin over. Those along with the Invasion should cover most conditions. Could probably even add the Fast for med-light...

So if I hear you right....
I already have the big oil ball with the Invasion.
Get the ROF drilled pin under
Reign drilled pin over.

This was my original idea except I was going to hold off
on the Invasion and do the Reign series first.
Don't really need the Invasion until summer sport leagues or tourneys.

So be pissed at myself for getting SOLD on a product(even though it is a very good product) that I did not need!!!

I hate it...but I am now retiring my xfactor DEUCE!!!!! so sad you have been a great ball for a very long time for me.

Malibu,  That sounds like a plan.
Now my question for you is ...
The places I bowl tend to put out oil
that is less in volume and/or shorter in length.
I will probably throw the Reign more often SO
would you suggest to set the Reign up then adjust
the drilling for the ROF off of that?

This is the information I was really hoping to find...Thanks

If it helps here are some of my specs

Revs 350  Speed 18  PAP 4.5 / .5 up  Avg over 200  Tweener/Cranker  Bowl Right handed.

I like to play across a lot of boards.  Lately I have been working on moving right and playing the far outside of the lane and am enjoying the challenge

I would put the ROF pin up. If you don't have enough oil for the invasion the rof may not have enough either in that layout, unless you are prepared to do surface prep to make up the difference. Both my invasion and rof are pin up (invasion is dual angle dual thumb). There is a ton of difference between the two, even at box setup. I am just worried that the ROF will roll too early with a pin down layout and burn up. The ROF by nature gets into a roll earlier (sort of like the dimension), so it all depends on what you are looking to do. I will tell you with this layout on fresh oil the invasion is worlds stronger then the rof, and I can see that being the case with you as well as your invasion is drilled pin under. Just something to think about, is there any place in your area that demos them before you buy. That might be your answer so you can try the pin up and pin down layout before you buy. Its nothing worse then having equipment that is too close together!

Hmm..Lets see what I have in this bag..A Reign of Fire, an Invasion, a Nasty Spider, and a green Avalanche.. how can I lose....

I would suggest drilling both the reign and ROF, both drilled pin up.. the reign you could layout with a 5x5x2, a little length and some backend.. the ROF you could layout a tad earlier 5x4x3.5.. this will give some length, but read the mids nicely and not be so jumpy off the dry.. you should have enough angularity with your hand and if it is a fresh oil shot.. 1-2 punch ROF out of the gates and the reign when they dry up alittle.. as for the invansion carry a squirt bottle of oil with you and you will be all set..lol..

I would kind of have to agree that the ROF and Reign are very close
the ROF does break a little earlier than the ROF but they both cover a lot of boards

Im not a fan of the Invasion either I think its too strong for what most people encounter and people are just getting an expensive ball that just burns up way too fast and does nothing on the lane

Also where are some of you guys suggesting the Reign as drier lane ball or when the lanes dry out ball from ?

The Reign is a very strong ball and and is designed for medium to heavy oil conditions
I dont think many people actually bowl on heavy conditions, it seems to be the trend of houses putting out less volume no their shots in recent,
I think most people bowl on medium conditions

If your looking to use the Reign for when the lanes dry out condition I dont think its gonna work well for you

Just wanted to lend some advise before you drilled both of them up and were not happy
I would drill the Reign up something like a pin up over bridge and kick the CG out 45 degrees on the mid line of the grip and see what that does for you

you should get very good length out of it this way and a nice backend motion

I honestly would not drill the ROF until you do the Reign and see what it does for you first

If you already have the Invasion I think the ROF will be very close to it in reaction shape, maybe a few boards weaker but nothing substantial

see what the Reign does first because at least its not as close to a reaction shape as the Invasion and maybe look to get a Fast or Mars or something along those lines to fit in underneath it if you want
