Snap lock covers

Has anyone noticed any loss of performance after 50 games or after any amount of games?

I'm no expert but I would say almost any ball will lose that out of box bang after 50 games...have you tried the normal stuff, oil extraction, resurface, cleaning after games?

I didn't get the ball yet. But I heard people saying it....I'm on the fence with this ball. Havnt used storm in a long time.

The more aggressive the shell, the more likely a ball will tame down noticeably  over the first 50 games.  I haven't thrown the snap lock and I don't know the surface prep from the factory so I cant comment on it specifically.

It is also perception.  A weak ball with oil saturation will only appear slightly weaker.  A very strong ball with oil saturation will appear significantly more weak by comparison.

I've been using my Snap Lock for around that many games and I haven't noticed any significant reduce in hook if any...then again I clean my Snap Lock after every set, and polish it back to factory finish 1500 grit every 10 gms or so. Not a big fan of resurfacing since I can never get the same reaction as before, I prefer oil extraction and regular cleaning/polishing to maintain my ball reaction.

Like everyone has mentioned in this post, all bowling balls will lose their reaction over time regardless of maintenance, it'll just seem more significant with balls with more aggressive covers, i.e. Solid dull coverstock balls. Since the Snap Lock is a pearlized ball I expect it to lose reaction slower than say an Alpha Crux.

People who do no ball maintenance (cleaning AND refreshing the surface) will always suffer the worst loss of performance. All balls will lose some performance even with diligent maintenance. Some coverstocks just absorb more oil, some people bowl on more oil, rougher surfaces absorb more quickly,  etc.

So some balls need oil extraction every 200 games some need it every 25 games. ALL ball need surface refreshing regularly, sometimes as frequently as every set; sometimes as long as 25 games; it depends on the circumstances.

Rich or lazy people need new balls every month .... :)

I'd only worry about Storm coverstocks if you worry about every manufacturers' coverstocks. Storm is no better or worse than any other brand (except maybe Lane Masters and Visionary; Brunswick may be entering this realm, not sure yet). So if you're on the fence about buying a Storm ball, you should really be on the fence about buying a bowling ball at all.
