Review:
The Absolute Power features the R2S DEEP coverstock which stands for Delayed Energy for Enhanced Performance. In layman's terms this simply means the R2S coverstock will pick up later on the lane compared to previous versions of R2S. This should create more of an angular reaction downlane.
Taking into consideration the above the shop decided to go with a short pin to PAP layout on the Absolute Power. For more information you can reference Storm's 2LS Poster Layouts #2 for more details. Basically this layout is good for rev dominant players and can be most effective on shorter patterns or patterns where a lot of friction is showing at the end of the pattern.
What has impressed me the most with this ball is that for having a solid finish the ball did not dig into our 41'THS immediately. Also, I did not do any cover adjustment at this time. So far this ball will shine on your lighter volume fresh patterns and medium patterns. I also feel this ball is very versatile in being able to stay in it as the lanes transition.
For me, the Absolute Power did not "lock up" as some asyms in my hand tend to do. In comparison to my DNA which I have the same layout the Absolute Power ball surface is a tad smoother and will allow me to stay in the ball a tad longer for having slower ball speed. Both the Absolute Power and/or the DNA can fill the same slot in your arsenal. Be sure to grab a Storm Absolute Power today.
