Storm Agent Drilling
« on: May 03, 2006, 09:07:14 AM »
well just look for ideas here because i order one of these and will be drilling a week or so from thursday

http://www.stormbowling.com/pdf/drill_specs/advanced.pdf   (storm drilling page)

i'm an above average in the rev area, unfortunately i don't know PAP or exact speed or rev rate, but speed is in the 16-18 range on the average strike ball, not exact but pretty close.

now just looking i want this ball on a heavy-medium oil pattern to really move, i mean in a strong drilling way not cover adjustments (those will come later) now from looking at the sites drilling suggestions i think i'd match up with the layount #2, any suggestions or ideas for a drilling style will be appreciated thanks

What exactly do you mean by you want this ball to "really move"?  Do you want it to start hooking early with continuous hook, start hooking in the mids, or do you want it to go long with a screaming move to the pocket?  What's your "normal shot"...how do you "normally" play the lanes?

Based on your description of yourself I'd go with something close to what Storm is calling Layout #2.  You probably don't need the MB on your PAL, maybe just off it.  I'd go with a 4x3 drilling with the pin off of your ring finger and the MB about 2" down and to the right of your thumb.

well i mean i want it to cover some boards, and starting early would probably work so maybe i made that unclear, i believe a layout with it rolling pretty early would work.

Right now i have a hot rod hybrid (1200 grit no polish) and i either play down and in on the outside or go about start at the 15 board and break back at the 5 on a slower shot, i'm hoping the agent can go something like 20-10 or so being able to play a little deeper.

Well, if that's what you are looking for, I think greenefam nailed it with his post.
