Will this be a U.S. release or a International release? There is a picture of it on USBC approved ball list

Wow, a hybrid ball in the Hot line, that catches my interest. I love my 2Furious, very underated ball. I wonder if this is their answer to the Rising Star in the Storm line, or stronger say in the Dagger range. Also if this ball will be controlled like the Reign Supreme, or angular like the Dagger. Def. a different color pattern for Storm, but you can't judge a bowling ball color until you see it in person. I think this ball will give bowlers a similar reaction to the Hyroad.  I have not thrown it yet so dont quote me.  I just think the lower RG will make the ball mid lane like the 2fast/2furious and the R2S hybrid cover will give a controlled reaction from break point to pins.

Just read the description on the Storm site and yea looks like they are going for a lower end Hy-Road reaction like you said Trudell. This could be a dream ball for a lot of people with the way the lanes are oiled less and less and tend to make any ball fly on the backend nowadays.

In case anyone hasn't seen  the Storm description:

Intent:
Storm’s product line includes a wide variety of weight block, cores,  and coverstocks. This is because we know that different bowlers have  different needs. And we have a responsibility to make sure, when it  comes to your arsenal and you’re ready to hit the lanes, that you have  all of your bases covered.

Storm’s Hot™ line offers an extremely wide variety of performance. From  the more aggressive 2Fast™ and 2Furious™, to the more predictable  Natural™ and Natural Pearl, you are sure to see the differences in  technology. And while some companies offer only recycled core designs at  an affordable price point, Storm designed the dynamic N.O.S.™ Core  specifically for this line. To develop the Hot line to its fullest  potential, we will create a new ball that offers both a dynamic shape  and impressive performance on medium oil conditions.

Design:
For the new Frantic, we wanted a reliable, proven coverstock that would  provide a clean glide through the heads and attack the drier boards on  the backend. R2S™, the second generation of Reactor™ coverstock  material, is the perfect choice as it does just that.

With a pearl and a solid version available in the line, we prepared a  hybrid version to see if it blended both power and control. Armed with  the exact same coverstock as the Hy-Road™, it proved itself quickly  during the testing process and moved on to the next phase, surface  preparation. With a 1500-grit polished finish, the new Frantic was  impressive during C.A.T.S.® testing as it created three times the entry  angle of the 2Furious.

Looking under the hood, you’ll find the innovative N.O.S. Core. When  compared with the Turbine™ Core, we created an increase of flare  potential by more than 15% with this higher volume core. Wrap this core  with the same coverstock as the Hy-Road and it’s easy to see why the  bowling world is sure to be frantic over this new masterpiece!
    Release Date:  October 25, 2011

I just pre-ordered a Frantic from Buddies and found they are $30.00 cheaper than any other place on this ball. How could this be?

I wonder if it will be similiar to the old Hot Rod Hybrid, Which is still one of my all time favorite hybrid coverstocks. Reguardless of color, I will be purchasing this one for sure !

The ole Hot Rod Hybrid, what a ball that was!

Real quick, the Frantic is not as angular as a Hy-Road and a great match on today's house conditions. Two straight nights I used my Nano Pearl and scored big but that ball had nothing coming where I bowled last night. I was bowling on some old wood with a Kegel recreational pattern, yes they curve!!! After shooting 196 I went to the Frantic and was able to put together the front 9 before watching the 6 pin wrap the 10 and stoning a 9 on the fill. The Frantic was so much smoother off of the dry so in some ways that look is closer to the Hot Rod Hybrid than a Hy-Road. The pairing of the NOS core and Hy-Road cover is an excellent match.

You will need to clean this ball after use if you want to keep it clean.

My Frantic is pin over the fingers by 2"on the center line with the cg under the fingers. I'm sure with a stronger layout you could crank up the balls ability to corner but for me, that is not a need. A very clean piece through the fronts and great for shots that are broken down.

The Frantic uses the same core as the 2Fast & the 2Furious so how could it be more expensive than they are. I think Buddies is right. I think the others are price gouging because of the rampant popularity of the solid/pearl combos balls manufactured by everyone.
