Storm IQ Pearl Vs RG Cell Pearl
« on: October 15, 2013, 02:21:16 PM »
Since I am not very good at looking at the numbers and "guestamating", and have no one locally that can provide the answer, here is the question in a nutshell.
If Both balls have the same specs such as pin distance and top weight, and drilled with the same layout, what would be the differences in these two balls to the best of anyone's knowledge. Thanks in advance!

I'd be willing to bet the Cell is earlier and smoother than the IQ

the Cell Pearl would be the stronger of the 2. Meaning the Cell would be able to handle a higher volume of oil. The Cell Pearl would react more aggressively to friction downlane.
Both have been known as very readable pieces when given the proper layout. I have yet to see an IQ Tour Pearl be very angular in the back.

Been having issues with my IQ pearl finishing on a medium THS debating bringing the old reliable mission 2.0 out. Ant thoughts on this ball vs the tour pearl?

If the ball isn't finishing, to me that sounds like there is either too much oil for the IQ to handle or you are playing too deep. If you're playing too deep, move out and change your line. If there is too much oil for the ball, the Mission should definitely help as it is stronger than the IQ pearl

I have both drilled roughly the same..for me, to throw the CP off the IQP, I need to make a 2 and 1 adjustment left. It is stronger earlier, and a bit smoother on the back end. Both drive thru the pins pretty good, IQP is slightly better there. The CP has undergone only one full resurfacing, and has been cleaned god knows how many times.. so it isn't exactly OOB anymore. Normal condition is probably a little lighter than medium, buffed to 41ft.  Hope this helps..

Thanks for the replies....I may think about drilling up an IQ Pearl, and even a bit less aggressive as my Cell Pearl.
