Storm Vivid

Drilled a new Storm Vivid pin down. The pin is about 1 inch below the bridge and centered. Used the ball in league last night and shot 237, 258, 300!! Shot 795. This is a great ball. Rolls up and very continuous through the pins. Very very smooth. I'd like to thank a great ball driller. TJ Trout of Keglers Pro Shop!!! Thanks Trouty!! Also another great addition to my bag. Thanks Storm for another great piece!! Lets go bowl up a STORM!!

Congrats on that great, great bowling, sir! I am extremely interested in this ball. On what condition did you play? And where on the lanes did you play? Did you have to make any big moves as the lanes transitioned?

I bowled at Berks Lanes on their house shot. In practice I was rolling the ball 15 to about 7/6 but the fresh back ends forced me to get really deep. At the end of practice, I was 20 to about 7/6. There were 6 other bowlers to the right of me. I went light three times in the first five frames. I then kept bumping right to 15 swinging it to about 7/6.  Punched out the back 6 to fininsh the first game. Then stayed 15 to about 7/6. I had a real nice look. Then ninth and tenth frame, ball started to creep high flush. Bumped two left with my feet and eyes. Again, had a real good look rolling 17 to about 7/6. Stayed there until about the 7th frame. I then saw a guy on the other team go into the beak. I asked him if he threw it good and he said yes. I them bumped two left with my feet and eyes. Rolled ball around 19 and swung it out to about 7/6. Ball just rolled great and continuous through the pins. We drilled it pin down to compliment my Defiant with a pin over the ring finger about 1 1/2 - 2 inches. I hope this helps Jesse. I also have a crossroad that is drilled just like my Vivid and shot 206,266,268 last week with the ball. Real nice one two combo.

Can you describe the difference in Motion between your Defiant and the Vivid? I have seen quite a bit of the Defiant and really like the look of it witht he higher pin layout but I'm wondering which one reads the midlane more?

The Vivid is one of those balls that I knew I would like instantly. After one throw, I knew it was a hit. The only other ball to give me that same feeling was the Hyroad. Unlike most high end assy balls, the Vivid does not ”hook stop”. This ball is incredibly continuous, I could get as deep as 25 & still maintain backend motion. The ball motion is unparalleled, this ball is what I thought the Nano would be. The Nano, for me, was hook stop when going left to right or if there wasnt an obscene amount of head oil. Conversely, the Nano was awesome going straight or ”jamming” it up the track. Just not a versatile ball to move in with, for me.

The Vivid is an amazing ball, if the Nano is strong and the Marvel too smooth, look at a Vivid.

Complete Bowler, I really really like the way the Vivid reads the midlane. Just like Northface said, its like no other ball I've thrown. Its very continuous in the midlane and through the pins. The Defiant for me doesnt read the midlane like the Vivid. The Defiant is longer and snappier in the back end. I hope this helps you!

Could it be....the drilling?

It could be the drilling. I have not had alot of success with a pin down. Typically my ball driller and I go with pin up. But he talked me into drilling a crossroad pin down. I really liked the way it rolled, so we both agreed to drill the Vivid with the same layout. Also, I have three solids pin up. VG Nano pin over the middle finger, Therory pin above the middle finger, and the Defiant above the ring finger. So we wanted something different to give me a different look.

Lets go bowl up a STORM!!!!!

Roto,

I just wanted to clarify....my comments above were in relation to the Defiant not having much midlane and the Vivid having a lot could easily be attributed to the different drillings.
