Trifecta or Ebonite XXXcel?
« on: November 09, 2005, 03:18:44 AM »
I'm looking to replace my Hammer Real Deal. I have a NIB XXXcel on the way (part of the combo deal with The One from Buddies), but I'm wondering if there's a better choice, besides the obvious, 'get another Real Deal' suggestion that is likely to creep up. Here are the numbers:

Real Deal
Diff: 0.057
RG: 2.48
Coverstock: Solid particle

XXXcel
Diff: 0.056
RG: 2.52
Coverstock: Solid Reactive

Trifecta
Diff: 0.056
RG: 2.47
Coverstock: Solid Particle

I love my Real Deal, and, given the opportunity, I would gladly trade for a NIB. But, since that deal hasn't been offered, I'm going to have to make something else fill that slot. I want a ball that will mimic the reaction I get with my Real Deal, which is a slight read in the midlane with powerful arcing backend. Of the two balls listed above, which do you think is likely to give me that look?

Trifecta with a 4½ by 3½ layout, pin high at 60 degrees.

two of my friends got the trifecta and they both hated them. There reasons were not enough hooking power. One throws 2 fingered on second shift dry lanes and it doesnt come back for him. From what i heard the XXXcel is a touchy ball so sorry to burst your bubble.
