They're not released until May 18th....so they technically not around yet

They look like Storm's response to Brunswick's Slingshot.
I assume they went to the bother of a new Storm core because sales of these Brunswick balls have been very good.

I wonder if this core will calm down the ferocious backend of polished Reactor pearl coverstocks, that has made them inappropriate as true dry lane balls???

Storm should of brought back the curelyon cover or the pearl accu-tread cover instead of putting the reactor on these new balls...

Probably not, too long ago - 1996?. I suspect that was one of the Versa-Thane coverstocks.

I couldn't find a reference to the FireStorm, but I found a Forest Fire Storm which, I believe, was supposed to be the solid to the FireStorm's pearl. It had the Versa HK coverstock. I have a bunch of old BTMs. I might be able to find it somewhere in there.

Well, since the hot rod was a pretty good ball(I have two) core and cover matched good, going to a ball with less flare but the same decently strong cover like storm just did with the tropical breeze is a mistake.... That's why I said storm should of brought back the curelyon cover or accu-tread to put on the breeze. It would of blended the core and coverstock a lot better. But oh well...lolz!!

Its awfully hard to make that statement, i'm sure Storm did extensive testing to decide what they wanted to do with the Breeze and exhausted options to find a happy medium of what will give a mild reaction but still be enough to allow the ball to be an entry level piece that will sell.

While many of us would love something really mild there isn't a huge market for that and the companies aren't going to get away from what sells.

Too hot = curelyon pearl

Ultra hot = curelyon solid with ultra-fleck

Elnino-wrath curelyon pearl 2 with reacta-fleck?

Elnino = curelyon 2 solid

Fire power = curelyon2 solid

Fire storm = versa hk-2 balanced pearl reactive
Powe charge pearl = curelyon pearl

Original thunder roads had the pearl and solid version of curelyon

Just to name a few of them:)
