Versatility in a replacement

Im currenlty searching for a replacement for my fired up.  It was a very versatile ball for me, but i feel its role has been shrinking to a 2nd shift toasty conditions.

That being said im looking to replace it, but im not sure with what.  I have heard so many things about this Hyroad but I've also caught a glimpse of a 2nd dimension.  

I have a Rogue, but im not convinced that the Hyroad is going to be that much different.  The Hyroad is listed as med heavy oil, as the 2nd Dimension is listed as straight medium.  

What can i expect out of the ball motion of these and where they might fit?

I haven't thrown these balls but from what I've seen and heard the advertising is misleading.  The Second Dimension is closer to medium/heavy while the Hy-Road is closer to medium.  The Rogue Cell is good on heavy oil, so most people say.

As for a replacement of your Fired Up I've heard the Rapid Fires have similar roll characteristics and I think they even have the same core.  Those are medium oil balls too.

Both the Rapid Fire solid and pearl utilize the Fired-Up's Twin-V core, just an updated cover.

I'd go with a Rapid Fire Pearl.  It's reaction is a hair smoother than a Fired Up due to the difference in covers - but overall it is real close.

If toasty conditions is the reason your Fired Up is seeing less playing time I'd stay away from a 2D - definitely not for toasty.  Also, if you get a Rapid Fire Pearl I'd move the pin further from your PAP compared to your Fired Up.  While the core is the same R2S reacts to friction differently than Reactor.  You will want to encourage the core to react a bit later.

Rapid Fire is exactly what you are looking for... Solid for a touch more midlane or Pearl with a monster backend
