Does storm make a really dry lane ball? I know they have the 'tropical'series
but I don't know if its actually for very dry lanes, thanks!

I use the MoRich Awesome Flip for dry lanes. If there is any sort of oil out there, I can not throw it due to my speed.

My son has had luck with the Power Groove Dyr/R

I have also seen some people that have a mid-performance ball drilled weak for dry lanes.

I use the Storm Big Hit Pearl with a mild drill for dry lanes.

If there is only light oil or a short pattern, my vote also goes to the black Pure Hammer. Smooth ball, but too much for really dead heads. The Power Groove Dry/R is also a good choice - less rolly than the BPH, but also pretty smooth, a very weak pearl reactive.

For true desert conditions I got myself a Slate Blue Gargoyle, and this piece (hard urethane pearl with medium strength core) will get my vote for the dry when you still want the ball to get into a real roll. Grips slightly better than plastic and also keeps pins lower upon impact. Great piece for the dry lanes. Thumbs up!

No way I'd recommend a Tropical on dry, they are jumpy. Jolt Pearl is a smoother nugget.

My Tropical is not jumpy at all. Drilling matters here - mine is pin pretty far above bridge with CG in grip center.
My Jolt Pearl did not skid as much as Tropical - cover is stronger - so I could not use it on true dirt as I can the Tropical.

As a lefty, I use my Tropical Storm and play a nice swing with it. When it's REALLY toast, I use my Crystal Diamond.

I have heard Cherry Vibe... went an purchased one and damn it is pretty strong.  About half the guys I bowl with carry a Big Hit Pearl. I hear the Tropical has too much back end, and the BHP suits a lot of folks just right.

One of our local drillers says use something strong, put the pin about 1" to 2" below the bridge, and kich out the CG at 45* and you get length plus backend. No experience with that idea; may have to try that one.
