the one i was telling you about was drilled with the pin about an inch or so under the ring, with the cg kicked a little if i remember correctly...it rolled out pretty quick, but it was able to handle the floods better than the other stuff i had at the time.  i sold it, so i dont remember any other stuff

PS...does this have anything to do with Vinny's ball?

lonce,

the ball rolled out REALLY early for me with the pin the way i described and the box finish.  i can only imagine how it would react with your revs.  you gonna come to the next getogether?...i sent you a message.

Yup, I will be there next month, I was laying this out with a 5" layout with the MB 4 1/4 away from the PAP

Are you sure that maybe you couldn't put the pin closer to your axis (like 4-4.5") BUT with the pin slightly higher than normal (like, even with the ring finger,  if you normally place it below the ring finger). This would give you some length but still give strong-ish flare needed for true heavy oil.

Even dull, the Reloaded is supposed to be a particle pearl. As a pearl, its cover is less elastic than a solid; so, its ball path will be different (longer) from a solid resin or a solid particle with the same drilled specs.

Always a tricky balancing act.

Just a thought ...

HOWEVER, I wonder if a Storm solid resin (like Deuce or Xtreme) would serve your purpose better. (I don't know; I just wonder.)

Good point CharlesT, The reloaded core is pretty strong a 5" PAD will place the pin under the MF but would use a nice size X-hole with drilling the MF deeper. I think this will get the ball to roll heavier.

Fine, Mr. L.
I was just pointing out a possible alternative. Better to think of all the possibilities BEFORE you drill it. Go with what seems to be your best instinct.

Good luck!

your'r right CharlesT I do not want another XXX-factor, I just might go with a bigger x-hole to increase the reaction. Right now that thing just set it sails.

I did see it skate on the fresher oil; on the drier, we had before we switched lanes, it worked well.

However .... I wonder what that XXX-Factor would do with just a tiny bit of extra surface, beyond what it has now ?? Worth an experiment? (Might be hard to get it back to where it is now, though.)
