Likes: The main reason I drilled this ball was because I had a ball drilled similar and really liked the roll I got from it but needed something with a little more coverstock with the newer updated oils. Plus, I am going to be bowling a few tournaments and needed something with some control on the backend. First night out last night was on a fresh house shot. I was EXTREMELY impressed by what I saw from this new 300C Solid. Ball comes 4000 with Factory Finish out of the box and that is where I left it because I still wanted it to get through the front part of the lane clean. I was actually surprised with the stronger cover than the Ebonite Black Ice and much stronger core, that the 300C still got down the lane extremely well; almost too well. When inside the oil line, the ball didnt get started as quickly as I thought it would. This ball with this layout really forced me to tighten up my line. Typically I start 3rd arrow and play around 7-8 breakpoint with my pin up balls. The 300C with this 2 inch layout forced me to start playing about 3-4 boards right of that at the arrows with a breakpoint still in that 7-8 board area. When I got the ball to 5-6 at the breakpoint, the ball was still very smooth off the spot and absolutely ZERO signs of the ball wanting to "take off". When I got the ball into about 9-10, the ball held its line extremely well. This is why I am such a HUGE advocate of the 2 inch layout with those with at least a 300 rev rate. You can use it on both THS as well as tournament shots with equal success. Shot 279 out of the box with it for 740 just learning as to what this ball is capable of.
Dislikes: Only dislike, if any, would be the Factory Finish polish as that polish can make a ball go too long down the lane on higher volumes. Contemplating taking the polish off and just going with a 4000 abralon finish and see what happens.
