Hi i just bought a Phenom and was wondering what other people thought of it?  Also i was wondering what ball you would think is better a Fear Factor or a Phenom?

PHENOM!

from what i've seen, (my brother is a storm bowler) the fear factor is a marshmallow that hooks...

Well, I have had 2 Phenoms (drilled differently) and I was not happy with either for a heavy oil ball. Now some of that could be the way I throw my ball, but in my mind for the money you can find a better heavy oil ball in the hammer line or Lane #1. I have a Vicious Strike drilled up the same as one of the Phenoms I had and it hooks about 5-7 boards more in oil than the Phenom.

I think its a good ball as long as you don't expect it to have a monster hook in heavy oil. I think its more of a medium oil ball.

My wife has one and she likes it but its not a big hook ball for her either.

As far as the Fear Factor, can't comment, because I don't use Storm stuff.

If they only made a ball that would carry that d*mn 10 pin..

I have had 2 Phenoms, getting ready to drill my 3rd, and I have a Fear Factor.

Both of the Phenoms I have had hooked more than the Fear Factor, by about 4-5 boards in oil.

If you drill the Phenom, simply have the Mb about 2 inches right of the thumb, and also have the MB moved closer to your PAP and it will hook like nothing else.

Both the Phenom and Fear Factor hit well, but I tend to get more messengers with the Phenoms.

I am not too happy about this one.  I am a med rev player with about 17 mph ball speed.  If I try to play a deep line with it it doesn´t move at all but when I go straight down first and in it starts hooking very early but the hook burns up after about 48 ft.  It hits very hard and when i have gotten it in to the pocket it leaves no corner pins.
I have the number three drilling from track website and what I was thinking of doing is taking the surface down to 6 or 800 grit and give it some polish.  Any thoughts on this??
