15lb Equation..
« on: February 19, 2007, 03:17:43 AM »
I have a BW for heavy lanes, a Vibe for light lanes and I'm thinking either a Toxic, or Equation for Medium lanes... anyone have any thoughts?

HEY PHOENIX!

I have both the Equation and Toxic and I really like the look I get with the Equation better. I feel the Equation has a more sharper angle on the backend than does the Toxic. I have both laid out the same way and this is the look I get. Hope this helps some buddy! God Bless You!

The Toxic is a nice ball....as is the Equation. One thing sets them apart FOR ME. The Titanium nugget. The Equation hits so hard people are always asking what ball I am throwing.
For roughly the same price point...get the Equation. Coverstock longevity and a great core!

sounds good.. yeah i thought about buying the Equation when i got the BW but held off... The toxic just came out and I nearly bought that too but i think the equation will do me justice... and this way i have a littel diversity in my bag.. and i'm not just throwing hammer balls..

Make sure you ask this question in the Hammer forum as well, or even Miscellaneous.    Of course you'll get more people leaning to the Equation here!
--------------------
Mr. Lebowski, this is Bill Salnicker with the Southern Cal Bowling League, and I just got a, an informal report, that a member of your team, uh, Walter Sobchak, drew a firearm during league play. If this is true of course, it contravenes a number of the league's by-laws, and article 27 of the league...

My only problem with this statement is that from day one....long before I was every on staff with Track I was unbias in any of my opinions. If the Toxic was a better choice I would have said so.
No matter what "allegiance" I carry now or in the future...I hope that each and every one of you realize when I give a suggestion or offer comments I am not being swayed in one direction or another.

Carl--

I didn't mean to call anyone out or anything, but I did think he should put the question on different boards, he can get different answers.  I certainly respect the opinions of you and others on this particular board.  Now, if this were the Brunswick forum...

In all honesty, I think he should get the Doom over either.

As of Feb 19, 2007 my contract with Columbia Industries has been terminated and I have not signed any new contracts (w/ any company) as I type this.  Therefore, I am no longer "obligated" to speak on behalf of "ANY" ball company so there shouldn't be any questions concerning my loyalties or ties, simply my opinion.  BTW, Carl had to forward my staff termination notice to me because Columbia doesn't have any records of me being on staff (heavy sigh...amazing).

Hey phoenixheat, I'd also recommend the Equation for your med cond needs.  After watching about 8-9 people with various styles including myself.  This ball falls into my "better then normal" carrying power.  It kicks out half 10's better then most balls.  I know there really isn't such a thing normally as a "harder" hitting ball but some balls just seem to do exactly that.  Another piece which did that for me was the Darkside and from what I saw from various bowlers, the Roto Rush.  The Toxic also has pretty good backends but seemed a little touchier off the breakpoint for the conditions we have out here IMHO.

Guys, Carl and I run full line pro shops and we will put in our customers hands what fits best if we want to keep that customer.  We don't just carry one brand or sell at internet pricing just to get customers.  We utilize our knowledge and skill in trying to fit the best piece with the correct layout to that bowler.  This is my 11th year in "this" shop (I had my 1st shop in Chicago) and if I wasn't good at what I do, I would've folded just like many other shops that I've watched come and go like the wind.

I certainly didn't mean to suggest everyone on the Track forum is a Track fanboy, but they are out there!  I'm well aware that there are highly respected guys on this board who KNOW their stuff.  I would have told Phoenix the same thing if he had posted the question just in the Hammer forum.  Just as a point of reference, in my bag right now is a Brunswick, Track and Hammer, and I have a DynoThane I carry with me to tourneys.    I don't hate on anybody.
