2 New Layouts for the Kinetic Energy
« on: April 20, 2008, 10:43:32 PM »
Well I drilled up two more KE's as follows:

Kinetic #3:
20 degree by 4" pin x 20 Degree VAL

Notes: Just wanted to try dsomething drastically new for me. Been experimenting with the Dual angle Layouts for a bit and after figuring out what I had on everything so far I decided to go towards the lower angle sum to play around with the KE. Ball revs up pretty quickly but has plenty of pop at the pins and definitely gives me a different look than my other KE's.

Kinetic #4:
RICO 1 Drilling

Notes: Always loved the RICO drilling in certain balls and decided to try it with my Favorite ball the KE. Another great look and allows me to play strighter up the out side without any over read in the backend and still has good hit at the pins. Different breakpoint shape than the other 3 as well.

So I now have 4 KE's drilled differently and I could probably use them on just about any condition outside of flood and really dry. I am very impressed with this ball and its versatility.

Great ball going to try at least one more sometime when the right deal comes up, out of 9 games my low game is 227. Best matchup with a ball i have ever had drilled pin over ring 5 1/4 x 4 inch with no weight hole.

I would highly recommend this ball to everyone out there wants ball that reads true and has pop on the backend for outstanding hit.

Billy,

Kinetic # 3 have you thrown this on tougher condition like PBA or sport patterns? I would think that this layout could be really good and may help kick stubborn corners out.

I had drilled one out Rico a while back and is real good on the tougher stuff. It was awesome on the RotoGrip Challenge at Nationals. I made a little change to it the other day by taking the poilsh off with 2000 abralon and then up to 4000 abralon. All I could say is WOW, this thing is flat out great now!

The #3 20x20 at 4" layout is still pretty strong off the spot. I think on the longer patterns it would be very nice with some of the polish knocked off. It reads the dry almost instantly OOB so I'm thinking a little surface to slow it down in the front might be very nice on the PBA patterns except for cheetah. I will be bowling this summer on a synthetic house and cant wait to try them out on a nice new surface.

Thanks for the input. With seeing all of the cool things that could be done with dual angle, it is nice to hear that the KE performs well with this type of drill. Not too mention the fact that the ball is really versatile when it comes to different styles and lane patterns. Have you found any type of condition that this ball can't handle?

Only when the heads are really burnt is there a problem for me using these. I often chase it left of 5th arrow and they still perform well. Like I said I have 4 of these and they are the first balls out of the bag now. I was a huge lover of the temper also. These KE's give me a very wide look on the largest range of conditions. I am really really impressed by their performance! I will probably drill some of the new stuff using the Dual Angle as well and may well experiment with a Dual Angle layout on a Rising.
