Carls phoenix!!
« on: January 26, 2007, 03:57:42 PM »
Ok everyone here is the layout, phoenix logo and the return of the flaming T logo. Also I know the backround looks like it is a mess but hey that is what happens when you have something like 30-40 ball plug jobs in a month (not due to carl messing up, but due to carl drilling ball with new pitches that felt better.)

The lighting looks really bad there.

Guys/gals---this ball is fantastic. I am holding off posting a mini review because I want to get some more games on it, but so far-------

The work bench only looks that bad because Scoot hasn't cleaned up yet.

looks ok, the only thing i dont like is why they put that huge T back on the ball? Isn't the track logo and the ball name enough? There not the only one's guilty of it, it seems to be the "in" thing today to cover the ball with logo's!?

Looks kinda like the Machine to me. With the branding on it, it would indicate to me that this ball will be at the Arsenal Series/ Inertia price point??

Rev O, I like when companies do this because it is very easy to follow the roll of the ball..........to know I got around it a bit more even if I didn't feel like I did etc...

Can anyone please give the stats on the ball, I know someone has them.

Here ya go:

Spec Info:

16lbs RG 2.45 Diff 0.050

15lbs RG 2.46 Diff 0.050

14lbs RG 2.49 Diff 0.050

Core Technology: Ascent

Coverstock: DSR (Dura Soaker)

Color: Teal/Purple/Burgandy

Track Flare: 5-6"

Total Hook: 50

Length: 8

Recommended Polish: Magic Shine

Recommended Cleaner: Power Wash

Reaction Shape: Strong Midlane

There you have it. It does say for Heavy Oil.....but this ball is very "tweakable". It could be used on a wide variety of conditions with simple coverstock adjustments. FOR ME...I see it as more of a benchmark type ball. Just my opinion though.

I for one, cant stand the super huge labels on the balls. It seems like today, all balls have 3 labels on the, the ball manufaucturer, the ball name, and the company logo. All this is doing is adding to the cost of manufacturing, may it be little, it's still an added cost. I can tell when i rolled it good or not when it leaves my hand, I dont need the ball label to help with that. The T would be ok if it was smaller, but that thing is huge!!

I agree with Rev, I just got an Equation and the ball name and manufacturer is enough. Looking at my GP2 with the smaller Flaming T is fine too.

Maybe my eyes could be wrong (small picture), but the core reminds me of Ultimate Inferno core

Carl,
Maybe I missed it somewhere in another post but what is the out of box surface?

Thanks,

4000 compound.

The new TCS(texture control system) is going to be huge in my opinion. It gives pro shops the ability to match coverstock prep exactly to what it was OOB.

I went front 9 with it tonight(a little tug action in the 10th ) and I was very happy with the reaction. The logos did not hinder performance of the ball at all!
